Women in Construction Week celebrates the strength, skill, and innovation women bring to an industry that quite literally builds our world. Organized each year by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), this week shines a spotlight on the growing presence and vital contributions of women across every area of construction — from trades and project management to engineering, safety, and executive leadership.

Construction has traditionally been a male-dominated field, but women continue to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and pave the way for future generations. Women in Construction Week is not only a celebration of achievements, but also a call to action: to promote equity, expand opportunities, and inspire the next generation of builders, leaders, and innovators.

Together, we recognize the women who are shaping skylines, strengthening communities, and proving that there is a place for everyone in construction.

Great Jobs KC is proud to announce it has been selected as a recipient of the Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. This two-year, $680,000 award will help bridge the gender gap in high-demand, high-wage industries across the Kansas City region.

While women make up nearly half of the overall workforce, they remain significantly underrepresented in technical and industrial sectors. This grant allows Great Jobs KC to provide 100 women with the specialized training and soft skills necessary to thrive in careers such as advanced manufacturing, construction, and commercial truck driving (CDL).

Our hearts ache for the injustice and murder of a brother who’s concern for others got him shot as our government lies and give license for ICE to break laws with false immunity. We are living in a time where standing up for our constitutional rights can be public ex*****on and coverup. Be safe brothers and sisters.
