RUNNING BAG COUNT 2026: (March 28-April 30)

On March 28, we started counting the bags of trash we collected for the 2026 season. Anyone who posts their pickup and number of bags can be added to our bag count. In less than a month, 93 bags of trash have been collected and we are still counting! That is AMAZING!! Let's see if we can break 100 by the end of the month!

Thank you to all our volunteers, partners and helpers all over St. Jose for all you do to keep our community clean!

DID YOU KNOW that Beautify St. Joseph will be at the Re*****on Nature Center this Saturday for their Earth Day Celebration? We will host a Riverwalk cleanup at 9 a.m., followed by a meet-and-greet booth from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.!

You can come down and meet us, get information on how to join us, how to make a difference in your community in your everyday life, or form a group or event of your own! Or you can just stop by and say hello! If you like what Beautify St. Joseph does for our city, thank a volunteer at our booth!

We had a very successful Downtown Cleanup to begin the 2026 season! Last year, we had 40 volunteers and this year we had 51 volunteers! Our thanks to our many partners:

Does the world feel chaotic and unstable, where it's easy to lose faith in humanity, especially on social media? Do you need a break from all the turmoil?

Would you like to restore your faith in humanity, have a little fun, make some new friends and do something that makes you proud?

Come and join us at Beautify St. Joseph!

This Saturday, March 28, at 9:00 a.m. we are hosting a clean-up event downtown. Come to Coleman Hawkins Park's concession area, where you can pick up supplies like grabbers, safety vests, gloves and our special yellow trash bags. We should be done in 90 minutes or less!

HyVee is even providing donuts and water bottles!! Come out and do something fun, make a difference, and walk away with a smile. And we all know, we NEED a reason to smile today!

Here is the map of our target area for this cleanup. In red, the area we covered last year. In blue, the area we would like to expand to if we get even more volunteers this year, and in green, Civic Center Park! Bring friends! Bring the kiddos! Make it a family event! All equipment will be provided by Beautify St. Joseph, and donuts and water bottles by HyVee! Come out and spend a little time making a HUGE difference!

Had a great meeting with the team today to plan our cleanup launch for Downtown on March 28th! If you would like to be a part of this team, we meet every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at the Downtown Library in the Owens Room at 10 a.m. We would love to have you stop by!
