For student-athletes, academics can be just as demanding as training.
Meet Eden Hodgkins, Acellus Academy junior and competitive All-Star cheer athlete. 📣
For the past eight years, Eden has trained and competed year-round, traveling across the East Coast with two elite cheer teams while managing a rigorous academic schedule. Acellus Academy's online homeschool program — with NCAA-approved courses — gives her the flexibility to work around practices, competitions, travel, and recovery while staying on pace toward her long-term goals. As she enters her senior year this August, she will also begin dual enrollment with the University of Maine.
"Success doesn't always follow a normal schedule — it follows commitment. Being in a self-paced program lets me stay focused and disciplined, while giving me the flexibility to keep up with my goals, my training, and everything I'm working toward."
— Eden Hodgkins
Eden's experience reflects a challenge many families know well: finding an academic routine that can keep pace with a serious athletic commitment.
