🎒 We’re Back! ❄️ Good news, HMC-1 families! The snow plows have done their thing, side streets are looking much better, and temperatures are on the rise. That means school is BACK IN SESSION on Wednesday, January 28!

We hope everyone enjoyed a couple of Virtual Learning Days and stayed safe and warm. Now it’s time to get back into the groove, reconnect with friends, and resume learning together.

We can’t wait to see our students and staff back in the classroom tomorrow. Let’s make it a great day! 😊

Due to winter weather and unsafe road conditions, HMC-1 will shift to a BLUE/Virtual Learning Day tomorrow, January 26.

Here’s what to know. Quick and simple 👇

2025 was a landmark year for Loma Vista!
Through the Loma Vista Redevelopment Project, we have successfully attracted major reinvestment back to our area. For the first time in nearly two decades, we are seeing an influx of businesses returning and new families choosing to call our neighborhood home!

This past year alone, we secured approval for over 500 new apartment units with The Depot and Trails at Bannister. We also broke ground on new builds like Starbucks, Chipotle, and CenterWell. Beyond retail, we’ve prioritized our residents' quality of life with essential infrastructure upgrades, including new sidewalks, trails, and the start of full beautification efforts. Most importantly, we’ve seen the revitalization of long-neglected properties, and I am proud to announce that in 2026, Loma Vista will offer new-construction homes for the first time since 2008!

Here is to an even better 2026! We will cherish, honor and learn from our past and history, be thankful for the present and be wishful for our future here in Loma Vista and in South Kansas City❤️

Loma Vista is a community that embraces growth and we are proud advocates for development and believe in creating space for every new neighbor!

In recent years, our streets have transformed with over 500 new multi-family units and the beautiful restoration of neglected streets, homes and local businesses. Today, we are thrilled to announce a major milestone: For the first time since 2008, new single-family homes are returning to Loma Vista!

Coming in 2026, we’ve officially approved a stunning 5-bedroom, 1,950+ sq. ft. home—with many more to follow! We are proud to see our neighborhood continue to build a bright future!
