📍 WE’RE IN ORLANDO!

Concilium is excited to be a sponsor of the Missio Nexus Missions Leaders Conference this week at the Caribe Royale Orlando!

If you’re attending, come by the Concilium table and say hello! We’d love to connect, hear about where God is at work through your ministry, and put some great resources in your hands.

Our heart is simple: helping ministries thrive where the Lord calls them—and remain faithful and effective where He plants them.

Whether you’re navigating security challenges, crisis management, duty of care, restricted-access environments, or simply trying to better prepare your people for the realities of global missions, we’re here to serve you.

Stop by, meet the team, pick up some resources, and learn more about how Concilium is helping mission organizations around the world prepare their people to serve wisely, endure faithfully, and maintain a Gospel presence in hard places.

🌎 Presence is the mission.

See you at the Concilium table!

As conditions in Ethiopia continue to escalate, missionaries, sending churches, and ministry leaders need timely information to make wise decisions and faithfully care for those serving in difficult places.

Around the world, thousands of missionaries, ministry leaders, and security professionals trust Concilium’s WhatsApp communities for situational awareness, practical support, and connection with others serving in challenging environments.

We have opened a new Ethiopia Conflict Situational Awareness group to help the missionary community understand developing conditions, share relevant information, and better support personnel on the ground.

Our purpose isn’t to create fear—it is to help the Church exercise wisdom, faithful stewardship, and non-anxious presence in uncertain places.

For the safety of those we serve, Concilium uses a simple vetting process before admitting users to our WhatsApp communities.

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. We remember the lives lost, honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of first responders, and remain grateful for those who continue to serve and protect others.

We also look forward with hope. Tragedy reminds us that courage, compassion, faith, and service matter; especially when circumstances are uncertain and the cost is high. May we be people who run toward those in need, stand faithfully with those who suffer, and refuse to surrender hope to fear.

We remember. We honor. We pray. And by God’s grace, we move forward with hope--but if not.

Concilium's National Hostage Summit, hosted by Convoy of Hope, is on October 15-16, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri!

Whether your church sends one missionary or 100+, DO NOT miss this opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing short- and long-term missionaries overseas and how to handle international crisis events impacting those you send.

This is a unique opportunity for church leaders to meet with those from the U.S. government and private sector who manage kidnapping and detainment cases for American missionaries held around the world.

This is a FREE EVENT and a rare opportunity to meet with members of the U.S. government who handle critical incidents and private-sector security practitioners who support the safe release and return of those detained overseas!

Concilium has activated a Nepal Flood Response community to support organizations across multiple sectors responding to the flooding and mudslides affecting communities along Nepal’s northern border with Tibet.

The purpose of the group is simple: share credible information, improve situational awareness, connect trusted partners, and help those serving on the ground make informed decisions as conditions develop.

Because Concilium’s response communities may include sensitive operational information and personnel serving in difficult environments, new members are required to complete a brief application before being admitted. This is not intended to create a barrier; it is one of the ways we protect the people and organizations already using the network.

If your organization or company has personnel, partners, ministry interests, or response operations in Nepal, we invite you to apply and join the conversation.

Pray for those affected. Pray for local responders. Pray for the Church in Nepal as believers serve their communities in the midst of loss and uncertainty.

Concilium is headed to Yerevan, Armenia, for TARMAC 2026, November 3–5!

www.tarmac.earth

Scott Brawner will be speaking at TARMAC, joining missions leaders and experienced field practitioners from around the world for three days focused on equipping those called to serve in some of the world’s most challenging and restricted environments.

But the opportunity doesn’t end when TARMAC concludes.

Immediately following the conference, Concilium will conduct a 3-Day RACE (Restricted Access Complex Engagement) November 6–8 in Yerevan.

RACE is intensive, practical training designed for missionaries, ministry leaders, and organizations serving in, or preparing to serve in, restricted-access and complex environments. Participants will work through critical areas including situational awareness, threat recognition, safe travel, hostile observation, checkpoints, de-escalation, information security, interrogation, captivity survival, psychological first aid, and a biblical theology of risk.

This is a unique opportunity to attend TARMAC November 3–5 and then stay in Yerevan for three additional days of immersive training with Concilium, November 6–8. OR attend the training in Yerevan after the conference. Either way, we would LOVE to meet you!

Today, we give thanks to God.

After months of prayer, waiting, and uncertainty, Kevin Rideout has been safely released from captivity.

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/13/us/politics/kevin-rideout-niger-islamic-state.html

From the beginning, we asked the Church around the world to pray without ceasing for Kevin’s protection, for strength and peace for his family, and for wisdom for all those working toward his release.

Today, those prayers have become prayers of thanksgiving.

We are profoundly grateful to everyone who prayed, advocated, and refused to forget Kevin and his family during these long months.

Above all, we give glory to God for sustaining Kevin through an unimaginable ordeal and bringing him safely out of captivity.

As Kevin and his family begin the process of reunion, rest, and recovery, we celebrate the One who sets the captive free.

“The Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
—2 Thessalonians 3:3

Thank you for praying with us. Please continue to pray for Kevin and his family in the days ahead.

Faith-based organizations serving around the world face unique challenges—and preparation matters when the unthinkable happens.

Join us for the 2026 National Hostage Summit, a FREE 1.5-day event hosted by Convoy of Hope, designed specifically for leaders from mission-sending churches, universities, and mission organizations.

📅 October 15–16, 2026
đź“Ť Springfield, Missouri
đź’˛ Registration is FREE

Attendees will engage with U.S. Government experts working in hostage recovery, wrongful detention, crisis negotiation, and national intelligence, while gaining practical crisis-management principles for protecting and supporting missionaries, travelers, and faith-based workers.

The summit will also include a hands-on tabletop exercise focused on responding to the wrongful detention of short-term missionaries and travelers—helping leaders strengthen preparedness, clarify critical decisions, and better understand the support available during a hostage or detention crisis.

If your church, university, or mission organization sends people internationally, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

HONDURAS 🇭🇳

Please join us in praying for Concilium’s latest Spanish Comprehensive Awareness Security Training (CAST) as we equip local Christian aid workers serving throughout Honduras.

Our goal is simple but important: to help these faithful servants reduce their vulnerability to the threats they may encounter in ministry through biblical wisdom, practical awareness, and sound security practices.

Please pray for:

• Wisdom, discernment, and clarity for Concilium’s trainers as they teach biblical principles of safety and security.

• The students to gain practical insight and the confidence to apply these lessons wisely in both their ministries and daily lives.

• God’s protection over every participant and the communities they serve.

• That this training would strengthen the resilience of the Church in Honduras and enable the Gospel to advance with faithfulness and wisdom.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer as we seek to build capacity and resilience for those serving in difficult environments.

For God’s glory and their good.
