We hope you join us this Thursday for what will be a very interesting lunch meeting.

We will be hosting Curt Nelson, Senior Director - Royals Hall of Fame as our guest speaker. Join us at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 13th and Wyandotte from 12-1pm.

Curt Nelson is embarking on his 28th season with the ball club and his third as Senior Director of the Royals Hall of Fame. Nelson spearheaded the development of the Royals Hall of Fame building, which debuted on July 17, 2009, and continues his work to preserve the history of the franchise while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Hall of Fame, Kauffman Stadium Tours/Ballpark Experiences, and Educational Programs. He has also served as co-chair of the MLB Baseball Heritage Group.
Nelson joined the Royals in 1999 as a seasonal staffer holding the position of Pre-Game Coordinator/Group Sales Assistant and subsequently served as Group Sales/Marketing Assistant, Coordinator of Advertising & Promotions, Marketing Manager, and Director of the Royals Hall of Fame. He played an instrumental role in developing promotions such as T-Shirt Tuesday and special events including Girls Night Out, Viva Los Royals and Royals FanFest. Reluctantly, the Native Plant Sale at the Rotary Youth Camp has been cancelled.

The National Weather Service is forecasting very high winds and the possibility of large hail arriving at the time the sale was scheduled to happen. We want to provide for the safety and comfort of our guests and we determined we should cancel.

We are looking into the possibility of rescheduling the sale and we’ll send more information if a new date is set.
