We still need volunteers, supporters and the resources to bring our vision to life. Please continue to like and comment on posts. Share our story. In this session, I share my experience as a former school administrator who survived a school shooting and the reality of rebuilding life in the aftermath. While survival is often recognized and celebrated, far less attention is given to what follows. The identity shifts. The emotional challenges. The slow and intentional process of healing.

Through personal storytelling and reflection, this presentation offers insight into how trauma continues to impact individuals long after the event, and how we can better support those navigating life after trauma.

Started a new project. Cause.... well I'm me. 😄 I'm of course working on saving the world one person at a time even today. (Truth is we don't have family close by so holidays can be quiet for my family). Since I have a few minutes And the deadline is tonight.

Can you take a second and try this activity for me? Biggie style.

When your head start spinnin’, world feel loud, you gotta bring it back—right here, right now. That’s grounding.

Look around you. Name 5 things you see—real slow, take it in like you scoping the room.
Now 4 things you can touch—feel that… your clothes, the ground, whatever’s solid.
3 things you can hear—maybe it’s quiet, maybe it’s noise… don’t matter, just listen.
2 things you can smell—even if it’s faint, find it.
And 1 thing you can taste—or just notice your breath sittin’ on your tongue.

See what you did? You pulled yourself outta the chaos, back into control.

Ain’t about bein’ perfect—it’s about stayin’ present.
