🍎 A new school year begins with great teachers—and we were thrilled to welcome ours at the New Teacher Breakfast!

This week, we celebrated educators who are new to NKC Schools, including 83 first-year teachers beginning their teaching careers.

To help them start strong, the NKC Schools Education Foundation provided each first-year teacher with a $100 mini-grant to create welcoming classrooms where students can thrive.

Because of you, students across North Kansas City Schools are beginning the year knowing they belong. 💡

Our donors and supporters have already contributed more than $14,500 to Belong from the Start! We are nearly two-thirds of the way to our goal of raising $22,000 in honor of nearly 22,000 students by August 31.

Every gift helps schools respond to the needs of their students:

💛 $25 can provide hygiene items or changes of clothes to nurses' offices
🎒 $50 can help provide a backpack and supplies
🍎 $100 can equip a first-year teacher with a classroom mini-grant
📸 $250 can help 10 students in need receive a yearbook, school photos, or school spirit wear who otherwise would not be able to afford to participate
🏫 $500 can support basic needs and supplies across an entire school

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our campaign or helped spread the word. Together, we are helping students begin the year feeling prepared, included and supported.

North Kansas City Schools is hosting the “Stuff the Bus” fundraiser Friday at the Walmart in Gladstone to collect supplies for students in need.

The NKC Schools Education Foundation is teaming up with the North Kansas City Schools Transportation Department to help ensure students start the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.

🕗 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
📍 Gladstone Walmart (7207 N. MO Hwy 1)

Simply shop inside Walmart, then drop your donated school supplies at the bus outside.

A group of North Kansas City Schools staff and their families got to spend Educator Appreciation Night cheering on the KC Current at CPKC Stadium this past Saturday, and it looked like the perfect way to wrap up summer and get ready for a new school year. ⚽️🩵

🎒 Backpacks packed with possibility!

A big thank-you to our local Costco for donating backpacks for students at Gracemor Elementary School! These colorful new bags will help students start the school year ready for all the learning and opportunities ahead. 💙
