For 17 years, Shilo Foster has served the Kansas City community with focus, patience, and dignity.
Today, we’re sharing a bittersweet farewell and a whole-hearted “thank you” for the impact she has made in the lives of thousands of neighbors in need - and on our programs as a whole.
In reflecting on the past 17 years, Shilo shared a few of the moments that have shaped her the most:
- Partnering with other local agencies to research and secure a specialized bed for a child with high needs,
- Providing a family at Children’s Mercy with specialized formula for their child battling cancer which allowed them to bring their child home, and
- Meeting with a woman she had worked with for years to give her the keys to an apartment after she'd been street homeless for a long time.
We’re confident these families and so many more will remember how her kindness has shaped their lives, too.
“Bishop Sullivan Center is and will remain a special place in my heart,” she shared. “I will continue to advocate for the work BSC does and the people they serve.”
Thank you, Shilo, for nearly two decades of selfless service! We wish you the best of luck in the journey ahead.
