Healing Arts for Heroes is beginning our process of becoming a legitamate 5013c Not For Profit organization that will bring art to our nationās heroes and their families. Art has many forms and we will not discriminate on what your definition of art is.
First Responder: (current or past) Law enforcement officer, Fireman, EMT, Emergency Room medical personnel, Clergy, 911 operators, emergency response organization personnel
Family of the above: Parents, Siblings, Spouses (partners), children (natural, adopted, foster, step, foreign exchange, guardianship)
How are we planning on bringing art to you...
a. Heroes teaching Heroes: If you are an expert or at least in your mind an expert in an art form and would like to volunteer to teach classes once or on a more continuing basis let us know and we will work with you to set up time, supplies, location ect and get the word out to enroll our Heroās in your class. We find that Heroes teaching Heroes creates a great connections between the future artists and their mentors.
b. Heroes teaching groups: Do you have a not for profit or Union that services the same clientele and you would like to bring art into your retreats and curriculum. Donāt reinvent the wheel. We will bring in our Mentors and supplies and share the healing power of art with your cohort participants.
c. Heroes teaching the masses: By working hand in hand with housing establishments we will bring our mentors into run weekly/monthly art groups for your clientele who meet our Hero requirements. For example a nursing home, a golden age community.
d. Heroes teaching the working: Do you know a corporation that has a veterans group? We can go to the meetings to bring art to them and then leave s box of art supplies in their meeting/ relaxation rooms to help with decompressing from triggers.
e. HERO v HERO: One on one instructions for those who need that added personal touch or guidance.
f. Hero Scholarships: When we have a Hero that excels at one of the above and is looking for more intense and specific classes that we are not able to provide. We can gift the hero the cost of attending local classes or purchasing equipment and/or supplies needed to further that craft.
g. Hero Supplies: Some of our nationās heroes canāt afford to do art. We donāt want that to stop them. We will strive to make creating art as inexpensive as possible. We can gift the hero supplies needed or loan long or short term high priced equipment to the Hero.
The biggest part of Healing Arts for Heroes is that we have each others 6. We understand the different and diverse needs of people and families like ours so lets bring together Heroes helping Heroes using the healing power of creating art to ease those invisible wounds.
