We’ve been quiet for a reason…
But auntie Zora said it best…”if you are silent about your pain, they'll kill you and say you enjoyed it.”
While there’s more to be said, we simply don’t have time…
But what we not about to do, is go quietly…
Or split hairs about caging human beings!
We can only hope that, in this moment, you now understand why!
So, we invite you to join us today, Friday October 17th at 6:30 pm at the Black Archives of Mid-America, for a FREE screening of the HBO documentary , as we stand in solidarity and uplift
Food, refreshments and onsite licensed therapeutic/healing support will be provided, as we take a deeper look at the real crime in punishment, and what surviving behind the wall actually looks like.
A brief community conversation with formerly incarcerated leaders from across MO and film participants to follow. Together, we will grapple with the irreparable impacts on families, communities, public health and community safety caused by carceral confinement and learn more about how to support the campaign. We hope to see you there!
