We’ve been quiet for a reason…

But auntie Zora said it best…”if you are silent about your pain, they'll kill you and say you enjoyed it.”

While there’s more to be said, we simply don’t have time…

But what we not about to do, is go quietly…

Or split hairs about caging human beings!

We can only hope that, in this moment, you now understand why!

So, we invite you to join us today, Friday October 17th at 6:30 pm at the Black Archives of Mid-America, for a FREE screening of the HBO documentary , as we stand in solidarity and uplift

Food, refreshments and onsite licensed therapeutic/healing support will be provided, as we take a deeper look at the real crime in punishment, and what surviving behind the wall actually looks like.

A brief community conversation with formerly incarcerated leaders from across MO and film participants to follow. Together, we will grapple with the irreparable impacts on families, communities, public health and community safety caused by carceral confinement and learn more about how to support the campaign. We hope to see you there!

🌍Happy Earth Day!🌍

We can't talk about environmental justice without bringing Black communities and all oppressed people to the center.

As quoted by one of our amazing funders & partners, "The stewardship of land and nurturing of healthy food systems has always been a part of the broader Black liberation movement; and consequently, the organizing efforts of Black-led movements have consistently led to the creation of policies that benefit not only our people but our planet. We are indebted to our Ancestors and elders, who centered land and food in their dreams of freedom for Black communities." - Borealis, Black-Led Movement Fund

Supporting the work of Black-led orgs IS doing your part to save our planet. Make your impact today at bit.ly/OLGifts!

We only have one Earth, ya'll. Let's take care of Her 🖤!
