It is with sadness, but in faith, that we write to let you know of the passing Sr. Jessie Kai, ss.cc., long-time faculty member and former Lower School Office Receptionist. She was surrounded by her fellow Sacred Hearts Sisters when she passed peacefully on the evening of December 2nd at Malia O Ka Malu. She will be fondly missed by the many students, alumnae, faculty and families she interacted with through her work and warm personality.

The Sisters of the Sacred Hearts will celebrate the life of Sr. Jessie Kai, SS.CC., on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022, at the St. Margaret Mary Chapel with a private burial following.

Please keep Sr. Jessie, her 'ohana, and the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts in your prayers.

At the Academy, each day time is devoted for prayer, reflection, and matters of the heart. Rooted in the Catholic identity, Sacred Hearts Academy embraces all faith traditions from across the globe. Theologians of all ages and walks of life are invited to share their experiences in relatable ways. Spiritual life, service and giving back to others are at the core of Sacred Hearts Academy's community and are celebrated.

Sr. Katherine Francis, ss.cc., '57, 's Campus Minister, extends an opportunity to those interested in participating in "A Day of Healing" to register for a day retreat with Rev. Today, the Sacred Hearts Academy faculty, staff, alumnae, family and friends mourn the loss of Fr. Christopher Patrick Keahi, ss.cc., who went home to God this morning, October 17, 2021 at about 4AM. Fr. Keahi was a valued member of our Academy 'ohana who often said Mass for our students, faculty, staff and alumnae on numerous occasions. He was loved by many at the Academy and will be sorely missed. Thank you Fr. Keahi for all your kindness and thoughtfulness over the years, we now surround you with our prayers and love. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Did you know that today is the Feast Day of Henriette Aymer de La Chevalerie, the Foundress of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary! Today in 1834 in Paris, Henriette Aymer de la Chevalerie went home to God and so we celebrate today as her feast day alongside 's founders, the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts. May she continue to bless each of us as we carry on the great work she began so many years ago!

It is with sadness, but in faith, that we share with our Sacred Hearts Academy 'ohana the news of the passing of Sr. Grace Marie Tom, ss.cc., '52, yesterday evening, November 9, 2021. Sr. Grace served as the Academy's Librarian from 1975 to 1984, and over the years had the opportunity to minister abroad in Japan and India. Sr. Grace was a proud Academy alumna, and active member of the Class of 1952, frequently participating in their annual reunion activities. She currently served on the Academy’s Board of Directors and was a member of the Finance Committee of the Board. We ask that our Academy ‘ohana keep Sr. Grace, and the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts, in your prayers. Thank you Sr. Grace for all your kindness and thoughtfulness over the years, we now surround you with our prayers and love.
