The KEA negotations team is proud to represent their members at the table this morning.

Although many of our 26 proposals addressing member needs and concerns have been settled, five remain including substantial language proposals that can change compensation and working conditions.

For our members, for our students, for our community…we are stronger together!

Our negotiations team has been diligently making progress on contract language and has tentatively agreed to several proposals from both sides of the table aimed at stabilizing workload concerns and working conditions highlighted in our member survey.

The hard work continues.

We know that together we all can continue to advocate not only for our students but also for changes that benefit every one of our EK-12 members. 💪🍎

Thank you to union leadership and members who stayed late into the night last week to voice their concerns about increased workloads without additional compensation.

We are not only advocating for our rights as members, but also standing up as professional educators who understand that adequate time is essential to prevent burnout and to properly prepare to serve all students.

We are KEA and we are Stronger Together. 🍎✊🏻

The Kalispell Public Schools board of trustees declined intervening in a dispute between the teachers’ union and administration Tuesday over required WIN — or “What I Need” — courses, which are required at the middle school, punting the issue until its next board meeting.
