Check out one of our awesome members in action at Peterson Elementary School!

Chelsy Zomer, counselor at Peterson Elementary, has been instrumental in creating opportunities for students to practice Profile of a Graduate (PoG) skills, strengthening classroom Morning Meetings in the process. She consistently finds ways for students to tap into their passions (for this little guy, it's anything electronic or motorized!), build self-awareness and independence, and meaningfully contribute to the classroom. Ms. Zomer’s work is making a lasting and positive impact on both staff and students at Peterson!

As Labor, we hold the power to make our community into one that provides us dignity, respect and time for leisure, join us next Monday in celebration of that power.

KEA celebrated our new educators at Buffalo Hill Golf Course last night with lots of laughs, snacks, and excitement for the new school year!

Your KEA Executive team was on hand yesterday at GHS to welcome our (hopefully) newest future members!

Thirty educators along with their mentors, many of whom are members themselves, learned about our union’s role in the district, how to sign up, and how we can best support them as they begin their career here.

We fielded lots of questions and had conversations with many of them who are joining KPS from other districts around the state and had heard about our union already! 🎉

Also shout out to Melanie, our Montana Federation of Public Employees field rep, for joining us, too!

Congrats to KEA members Greg and Lori Adkins for being recognized as the NWMT Reading Council Teachers of the Year at their Back to School Literacy Conference last week!

The passion they bring to both their classrooms AND our union are awe inspiring.

The KEA negotations team is proud to represent their members at the table this morning.

Although many of our 26 proposals addressing member needs and concerns have been settled, five remain including substantial language proposals that can change compensation and working conditions.

For our members, for our students, for our community…we are stronger together!
