Located on our sacred grounds at 7447 West H Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 I'm here reaching for the solutions to the problems that will bring people to horses, to process their discomfort and find a more comfortable, heart-based, meaningful direction.

I'd really like to have a flamenco guitarist out to our stage this summer. I've kind of fallen in love with the vibe. I started listening to it while doing ground work with my horses and it felt like a dance. We can't pay anyone, so it woudd have to be totally voluntary. Would you come out to listen with the horses? Maybe we could host a challenge and have several here the same day and throw money in their guitar cases based on oerfirmance.

Shh! Don't tell Jane that little kids are humans. She's chosen to partner with one of our Horse Powered Reading students. She just walked right up and volunteered to him. What the heck?

If you know about Jane, you know she is a remote observer during herd meditations and often, when you take a halter in her direction, she leaves as if she smelled a fart coming.

Why she has decided this kid is her new friend is beyond me, but it is totally good - for both of them!

One of my volunteers gave us a halter she picked up for $5 yesterday. I was pretty sure I didn't need it because I have extras. It's a plether material and I told her thank you for thinking of us. I honestly didn't think I would need it.Then today, one of the cheap used marketplace halters I bought for Secret gave up the ghost (it would be more expensive to fix it than buy a new one), so I'm thrilled to have the one she brought yesterday. Thank you Kristin!!

Nobody showed up for herd meditation today. There's no way for us to know for sure if we need to be out there. Last time we didn't set up because it was raining, 3 people showed up. This week we were set up, and nobody showed.

The folks who bought tickets and got rained out know they can come another time. I just don't know whether they will choose to, so I set up, just in case.

So my son and I sat under the trees with the horses and had a nice herd meditation. All the horses chose to come into the circle at some point, even Jane.

It's not as hard as you think to ride ba****ck and bridleless. If I can do you, you can too, and I can do it. There really are not many opportunities to learn this, however. If you are going to spend hours and days to train a horse, you get to decide what equipment to use or not use. I love that this speaker reminds us that plenty of horses run through bits and do all kinds of damage. Horses are happy to partner with you without a bit.

June is full of places to land.

Gentle yoga and a sound journey at the Center for Psychotherapy + Wellness. Open Space with the horses at Horse Time. Weekly sessions at the home studio on Wednesday mornings and Sunday afternoons.

Different containers, same intention — a little more ease in your body, a little more room to breathe.

Full schedule in the image. Registration link in bio, or scan the QR code to save your spot.

Today is the last day for us to collect donations for our Horses for Mental Health fundraiser. We did not reach out goal. There is still $300 to go for that goal. We learned so much as a board, however, and are grateful for how our community showed up for us as they learned we exist out here in Oshtemo.

When I meet people who are interested in horses and tell them what we do, they always say "Oh, like Cheff Center" and I cringe a little. I'm happy for Cheff being so well known that they come to people's minds first. I have supported them for decades by taking pledges for their rideathons and once I even became the sole rider, stuck on the long end of a ride on cold, rainy day back when they offered distances to ride, and questioned my choices in life while my fingers were freezing and my teeth chattered.

We are not like the Cheff Center. We only offer ground based work with horses. There is plenty to learn from them without sitting on their backs. Our programs are based around HeartMath® science that focuses on the vibration of the heart, which is a more powerful vibration than the brain, and even has a brain of its own. Life is vibration. Our thoughts create vibration. The stories we tell create vibration. These horses are here to help us find our way in this world of vibration. Sure, riding a horse is amazing, but so is just BEING with a horse. That is where we come in. Not to help you mount a horse, but to help you learn how your vibration affects the world around you and to learn to change your vibration to create the life you want.

On this last day of our fundraiser, I wonder if you can feel the need for us humans to learn more about the natural world and how we affect it. I wonder if you can help us reach our goal today by some increment that validates the work we do here beyond riding a horse.
