Our Papa Naupaka class enjoyed story time at their local library today!📚

The class of 3 to 5-year-old keiki held on tight to the walking rope and made their way through the neighborhood to their local branch, the HI State Library Hawai'i State Public Library System (HSPLS), where we read, sang a song, and played a color activity to find the Tooth Fairy’s missing molar!

“To me, a school is a living thing that never stops growing.” –Chuck Larson 🌱

Today we celebrate Founder’s Day, a new holiday across our 6 campuses that honors and appreciates the legacy of our founder, Chuck Larson, a pioneer of intergenerational early childhood education and the visionary force behind our 55-year history.

Why October 9th? Because it’s Chuck’s birthday weekend! 🎂🎉

These images are from Chuck’s “Seagull Schools’ DNA,” a founder’s statement that details our lasting history of outdoor and play-based curriculum, a passionate calling to meet the needs of working families, and above all, stopping and dressing like a pirate every once in a while. 🏴‍☠️ For the keiki, of course.

Did you know? Seagull Schools has an Infant & Toddler Program in Ko Olina!

Beginning at 12 months old, our youngest students learn not only how to walk and speak, but also the fundamentals of fine motor skills, grip strength, sharing & being part of a (tiny) community!

Tuition includes:
🍽️ 3 meals a day, made by Seagull Staff and never outsourced

🧸 Small, intentional classrooms rooted in enrichment and fun

🪁 A school day from 7AM to 5:30PM, before and aftercare included

Answers to common questions:

1) No, Keiki do NOT have to be potty trained to join (at any age!)
2) We are an all-year program and accept keiki on a rolling basis. No need to wait until August!
3) We also have an I&T program in Downtown Honolulu!

For Grandparents Day ‘26, we honored our Foster Grandparents with a Kupuna Breakfast! 💖

Our Ocean Pointe campus in Ewa partners with ALU LIKE, Inc. to welcome kupuna volunteers into classrooms and includes transportation and a small stipend. Families and keiki alike love these intentional intergenerational connections and care, especially those households without kupuna or grandparents actively in their lives.
