Valley Isle Road Runners

Founded in 1970, the Valley Isle Road Runners Association is a nonprofit organization and administrated by an elected volunteer Board of Directors.

The Valley Isle Road Runners (VIRR) Association was founded in 1970 and has grown to over 700 members. The VIRR Association represents Hawaii running at its best. Is both a pioneer and pacesetter, serving the running community of Maui for over 38 years. From the beginning runner or walker to the elite competitor, the VIRR addresses the varied talents and interests of its members in a year-round pr

ogram, including an active Youth Program. We are involved in over 15 events each year, including races for kids under 1 mile to over 50 miles. All proceeds from races, sponsorships, merchandise sales, and membership fees are used to support and develop the programs and high quality events that the VIRR produces throughout the year

We will have 2026 Maui Marathon Ambassador as our special guest for Wednesday’s group run at Kalama Park in Kihei. 🌴 Meet at 5:15pm for 5:30pm start. Everyone is welcome, especially kids and parents with strollers!

We’re returning to our spring/summer hours this week for our Kīhei runs. 🤙 Meet at the south end of Kalama Park each Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. (run to start at 5:30 p.m.) This week we’ll head to food trucks afterwards 😋

This is from an update on Matt Holton's recovery - May he rest in love.

It is with a heavy heart that I regret to tell you that Matt passed away the morning of Wednesday, January 14th at home. We accomplished so much in the last six months and I cannot thank you enough for all of your love and support. Matt was a trailblazer and accomplished so much in his 47 years; from running to art, building our home and his love for landscaping he lived hard. Yet, Matt is free now.

Join us this Thursday, Dec. 18, for our annual holiday pub run! 🎄 🍺 🏃🏻 We will meet outside at 5:30pm before heading to for a group photo. We’ll then take a new route that ends with seeing lights before ending for post-run refreshments and raffle. Holiday attire/costumes, lights and music are encouraged! 🎅
