🌟 Monday Member Spotlight – Kelsie 🌟
Meet Kelsie, one of the most dedicated cowgirls of the Western Stars Rodeo Drill Team!
Family is at the heart of everything Kelsie does. She has been married to her husband, Stetson, for three years, and her babies are truly her whole world. Between being a busy mom, attending school, and working, she still finds every opportunity she can to spend time outdoors—especially with horses.
Kelsie didn’t grow up around horses. Her passion for them developed later in life, and becoming part of the Western Stars Rodeo Drill Team helped grow both her confidence and her love for riding. The friendships, support, and experiences she has gained through the team have made horses a major part of her life.
Kelsie’s journey back to the saddle is nothing short of inspiring. During a horn-hunting adventure on horseback, she was involved in a devastating accident that resulted in 14 broken vertebrae, 7 broken ribs, a punctured and bleeding lung, and a brain bleed. She spent nearly two weeks in the hospital and was placed in a TLSO brace, with doctors expecting her recovery to take at least a year.
But Kelsie’s determination proved stronger than anyone anticipated. Her injuries healed exceptionally well, allowing her to remove the brace after just six months. Even during recovery, she couldn’t stay away from horses for long, occasionally climbing in the saddle just to sit and reconnect with the animals she loved. About a year and a half after the accident, she was able to fully return to riding.
Today, Kelsie continues to pursue her passion and dreams of barrel racing. Her story is a powerful reminder of perseverance, courage, and the healing power of doing what you love.
We’re proud to have Kelsie as part of the Western Stars family!
