There are two free community chipping events coming up this summer.... July 11th and August 8th. Cal Fire personnel will be at the Julian High School/Library parking lot from 9 am to 1 pm to chip your cut vegetation. Everyone in the Julian, Wynola and Cuyamaca areas are welcome!

▪️Please NO large rounds or large diameter tree trunks.
▪️The crew must be able to pick the material up; there will not be a chainsaw on site to cut into smaller pieces.
▪️Please NO poison oak/ivy/sumac or materials with a bug infestation.
▪️Residents must bring the materials to be chipped to the site; we will not be able to go around & collect it.

Want to be a part of a group that promotes wildfire education and safety? Want to make in a difference in your community? The Julian Fire Safe Council (JFSC) is looking for volunteers to help us expand the team!

Volunteering with JFSC is not a huge time commitment. We meet every other month, provide support at 1-3 community events each year and have the opportunity to attend a variety of educational meetings throughout the county. If you’re interested and want to learn more, please email us at [email protected].
