Hey friends!
I need your help. As some of you know and some of you don’t during Gabe’s cancer battle I started modifying backpacks for kids at Children’s Mercy, who like Gabe needed a feeding tube to thrive during cancer treatment The feeding tube part of his battle was really hard for us. The most basic thing a parent should be able to do is feed their child and when you can’t it feels so crushing. Not only were we not able to make him better we also couldn’t get him to eat. It was hard. Gabe got his feeding tube and his basic manufactures backpack and he didn’t like it. So I modified one to help him like it more, and it did help so much. I talked to the hospital and we teamed up and I have been sending them backpacks for over 2 years.
The child-life specialist that are in charge of this program we created to make it more enjoyable for kids like Gabe reached out to me…they are out of back packs and need to replenish. They need toddler backpack, boys backpacks and teen backpacks.

This is where I need your help. We can’t do this alone, we need to take a shipment of at least 30 backpacks, more of we have them.
I am attaching our Amazon wish list. If you would like to buy them and drop them off to me locally (Joplin, Mo area) we can do that. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to help. I will make it work. This makes such a big difference it is absolutely needed.

After a very long wait to be able to donate backpacks to the Children's Mercy again. We have the all clear. Not only that but we are also going to be donating backpacks all over the hospital. So that any in the hospital will have the ability to choose a cool backpack that they like. I am so excited. We want this next donation to be a big one, if you have any new unused backpacks and would like to donate we would appreciate it.
A few weeks ago I saw a family in the hospital with a backpack for the first time. It was so absolutely amazing. I didn’t have much time to chat as Gabe took off running to find popcorn but just saying hi and hearing their thank you make me tear up. This doesn’t seem like a huge thing but it can mean so much to a child or their family.
Thank you to every one who has helped us get this far we can’t wait to see how much farther we can go! These are some adorable cards donated by Dixie Printing. They are so cute.

How cute are these!! One of my many super amazing kind neighbors designed this logo for us. She also found a vendor to print these patches. Isn’t she the best! I can cut them apart and sew them to the backpacks. I can’t wait to add our first patch to a backpack.
