You’re not supposed to read this book properly.

Cute that you thought you were.

The Mirror You Didn’t Ask For works better when you stop trying to control what you find.

Think about the thing you’ve been avoiding.
The question you keep circling.
The feeling you keep pretending isn’t that serious.

Anywhere.

No table of contents.
No hunting for the title that sounds nice.

You get the sermon you land on.

Read it.

Close the book.

And see if it leaves you alone.

Maybe you find something comforting.

Shadow work is often described as healing.

That is the polite version.

Shadow work is confrontation.

It is the moment you stop asking why you keep repeating the same patterns and begin examining the part of you that benefits from them.

The part that submits before it can be rejected.

The part that destroys what it wants before it can be abandoned.

The part that performs, controls, escapes, or devours because once, long ago, those methods kept you alive.

Your shadow is not an evil presence hiding inside you.

It is an old protector that never learned the danger had passed.

In Six Masks, No Face, shadow work becomes mask work. Six archetypes. Six survival strategies. Six faces that can become gifts when worn consciously, or weapons when allowed to rule unseen.

You are not asked to remove the mask.

You are asked to hold it in your hands, study what it became, and decide whether it should be reclaimed, reforged, or burned.

The mirror is waiting.
