Everyone deserves dignity, compassion, and a place to call home.

Today, Hannah's House & Clothes Closet, LLC joins communities around the world in recognizing World Homeless Day.

Homelessness is more than not having a roof over your head. It can mean not having access to a warm shower, clean clothing, personal hygiene products, a safe place to sleep, or even a fresh pair of socks.

At Hannah's House & Clothes Closet, we believe that small acts of kindness can make a life-changing difference.

Through our outreach efforts, we provide hygiene care kits, clothing assistance, food assistance, emergency resources, and referrals to individuals and families experiencing hardship.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗵𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁. 💜

Yesterday, I spoke with a mother who is creating an exit plan from a less-than-desirable relationship. She submitted a clothing request for herself and her son, and under SPECIAL REQUEST, she asked for something so simple:

𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀.

I told her, “I’ll purchase a pack of socks for you.”

𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴.

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀!

That moment stayed with me because I remember a time when life was happening to me, too. During that season, a coworker brought me a pair of black socks. It may have seemed like such a small gesture to someone else, but at that moment, that simple act of kindness meant the world to me.

Sometimes we underestimate the value of the little things.

A toothbrush.
Deodorant.
Soap.
Socks.
Feminine hygiene products.
A clean washcloth.

To some of us, these are everyday items. But to someone who is struggling, starting over, leaving a difficult situation, or simply trying to make it through another day, these items can restore a little dignity, provide comfort, and remind them that someone cares.

That is why Hannah’s House & Clothes Closet believes so strongly in providing hygiene care kits.

𝗛𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗺 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗛𝗨𝗚𝗘 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆.
