Johnstown Animal Welfare Society A society of rescues and individuals who work collaboratively to promote the cause of animal welfare in the Greater Johnstown community.

This society can provide an organizational structure to elevate new concerns to initiatives. Member individuals and entities currently consist of Flood City

Kitties, Seven Hearts Project, Dr. Dahlin Talks Animals, C&F Cat Tails, Donna Christopher, Mark & Terry Smith, and Cinnamon's Closet. Membership is open to other independent rescues and rescuers who serve the Greater Johnstown area after requirements of attendance and participation are met per guidelines. Partners include VisionTogether 2025, Municipal Government, Cambria Veterinary Care and Allegheny Spay and Neuter/ Animal Welfare Society.

Here is the Blitz! Great big thanks to the City of Johnstown for deciding it was worthwhile to fund a TNR program, for the Humane Society of Cambria County for collaborating with us, and for our AWESOME VOLUNTEERS! Honestly, doing this Blitz felt like a full on marathon to those of us involved. Yet we are also super proud AND...the Blitz will come again! Stay tuned.

Help! We need volunteers willing to drive on Wed evenings to Greensburg to transport kitties for our spay/ neuter appts! We have been running cats to and from with the help of our amazing volunteer Andrea but she needs assistance. Looking for one (or more to trade weeks). Willing to put money towards gas if needed.

Must be able to climb stairs repeatedly and haul cages and traps containing cats of variable weights. And of course be available wed evening to pickup in Greensburg and return to Johnstown. Thanks!

COME VISIT DOROTHY AT THE CAT CAFE! Seek her out and see just how loving our shy girl actually is...

Dorothy is our longest resident and she would love to have a family to call her own by her 1 year birthday in July... I really can't understand how this sweetheart is still here!

Day 125 of posting Dorothy daily until she ia adopted! 239 days in rescue.

Dorothy needs a home who has patience to work with her and guide her into feeling at home but not force her. She is still learning!

Dorothy is a sweet little girl (with a fair amount of spice) and mind of her own. She is super cuddly (when she wants to be), she loves being held and snuggled BUT is also very independent, so everything is on HER terms. She is VERY vocal when she doesn’t want something! She plays well with the other cats and is always excited for new toys and treats! Dorothy's purfect home would be free of young kids with a family that allows her to call the shots and follows her cues!

She is approximately 8/9 months old, UTD on vaccinations. FeLV/FIV negative and spayed.

Gwen plays hard to get but if you give her a little chin scratch or wet food she is your best bud!

She is estimated about a year and a half old, fixed, up to date on all vaccines and negative for FIV/FeLV. She may not visit well the first time with strangers but trust, she will love her person deeply!
