Drug use among South Dakota teens shows encouraging trends. According to the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS):

• 10.4% of students used ma*****na in the past 30 days, down from 14.6% in 2021.

• 12% of students have taken prescription drugs without a doctor’s prescription at least once in their lifetime.

Educating teens on the risks of drug use and providing support can help sustain this positive momentum.
