It's good to have friends in the SECRET CATNIP SYNDICATE.
I can't tell you who sent this $1,000 donation because he or she prefers to remain hidden in the shadows, operating from a top-secret location with access to unlimited catnip and very little interest in public recognition. But I can assure you the gratitude was expressed enthusiastically.
The funny thing is, this was a "just because" check.
Meanwhile, over here in Jenny's World, Diego's ear surgery came with a nearly $3,000 price tag that I absolutely did not see coming. I knew the procedure was scheduled of course. I simply neglected the "minor" detail of asking how much it would cost. The last similar surgery was around $800, so you can imagine my surprise.
As soon as I heard a check was in the mail, I knew exactly what fund it belonged in.
Rescue is a constant balancing act between today's needs and tomorrow's emergencies. We're always looking for ways to build and replenish reserves because experience has taught us that the next unexpected expense is never very far away.
We take that responsibility seriously. Every donation represents someone's hard-earned money, and we work every day to make sure it is used wisely and compassionately.
To our anonymous donor: thank you.
To the entire RUKM family: thank you.
Cats like Diego may never know your names, but they are living healthier, happier lives because of your generosity. And that's a pretty amazing thing. ❤️🐾
