It’s world cancer day.
For those who don’t know cancer hits close to my heart. It is something that has affected more people in my family than I would ever imagine. I can’t believe it’s been over 13 years of helping raise funds to find a cure and how much I have already accomplished. If you are someone who’s currently living with it and survived it, you are stronger than you will ever imagine. For those who had to endure the loss of someone I feel for you deeply. We should never have to worry about receiving the news that our loved ones or yourself have cancer. One day we will be cancer free. I may be almost 20 now helping as the chair of the junior leadership committee, but im still the girl who ran 3 years for student visionary of the year, spent hours planning events, biked over 70 miles, went on countless news stations, and started walking to help the fight at age 3.

Every year we get together for one night to remembrer those lost, honor those fighting and celebrate the ones who won their battle. It's a night of joy and tears but a night I will more than happy to attend. This isn't just a one day thing though. People are fighting everyday for their lives.
