For Daisy Álvarez, founder of Plotus Lab Inc., Hispanic heritage is something carried forward: from her grandfather’s journey as a Venezuelan immigrant to her own, and into the tools and opportunities the next generation will inherit.

At Presenta y Gana, Daisy also reflected on something at the heart of our community: we get further when we help one another.

An Ecuadorian friend helped connect a Venezuelan entrepreneur to RTC. That connection led to new relationships, new support, and another community of Latino entrepreneurs growing together.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate our heritage, our ancestors, and what each generation is building for the one that follows.

We keep helping one another. We keep growing together.

Para Daisy Álvarez, fundadora de Plotus Lab Inc., la herencia hispana es algo que llevamos con nosotros y transmitimos: desde la historia de su abuelo, inmigrante venezolano, hasta su propia experiencia como inmigrante y las herramientas y oportunidades que heredará la próxima generación.

Una amiga ecuatoriana ayudó a conectar a una emprendedora venezolana con RTC. Esa conexión abrió las puertas a nuevas relaciones, nuevas formas de apoyo y otra comunidad de emprendedores latinos creciendo juntos.

Este Mes de la Herencia Hispana, celebramos nuestras raíces, a quienes vinieron antes que nosotros y todo lo que cada generación está construyendo para la siguiente.

“They gave roots to my dream.”

Martín Escobar came to the Community Business Academy with something that had once been a conversation with his family and partner: the idea for what would become ProUnited Accounting.

Through education, guidance, and support, he watched that idea begin to take shape. In his words, his dream started growing roots.

Today, his business is dedicated to helping members of the Latino community navigate taxes, establish businesses, find guidance, and pursue their own ambitions.
This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate entrepreneurs like Martín who are turning dreams into businesses and using what they build to serve the communities around them.

What does it take to be ready for capital?

Yesterday, nearly 80 entrepreneurs joined us in person and online for Meet the Lenders, with representatives from banks, CDFIs, and government agencies sharing insights into how entrepreneurs can better prepare to pursue financing.

For our in-person participants, the conversation continued beyond the panel. Entrepreneurs had the opportunity to connect directly with more than a dozen lenders, ask questions, explore different financing options, and begin building relationships that can support their businesses as they grow.

Because access to capital starts with more than an application. It starts with understanding your options, knowing what lenders are looking for, and being prepared for the conversation.

Thank you to every lender, entrepreneur, partner, and community member who joined us and helped make the evening possible.

Here’s to more informed entrepreneurs, stronger relationships, and businesses prepared for what comes next.

On Friday, Rising Tide Capital had the pleasure of welcoming more than 50 entrepreneurs and small business leaders to our headquarters for the Small Business Growth Forum, presented in partnership with Wells Fargo.

The forum brought together business development and financial experts from GNEC, Kiva, Renaissance Economic Development Corporation, Wells Fargo, and Rising Tide Capital to explore what entrepreneurs need to consider as they prepare for their next stage of growth.

A recurring theme was preparation. Entrepreneurs should know why they need funding, how they will use it, and which loan product best fits their goals. Banks, CDFIs, and other lenders differ in their products, underwriting, and support. Panelists encouraged attendees to explore those options and build lender relationships well before they are under pressure to borrow.

From financial and loan readiness to accessing capital and building the systems needed to scale, the conversation gave entrepreneurs an opportunity to ask questions, connect with experts, and better understand the resources available to support their businesses.

We are grateful to Wells Fargo for its sponsorship and partnership, to our panelists for sharing their expertise, and to every entrepreneur and small business champion who joined us.
