Discover the Art & History of Ukrainian Pysanky !

Join us for a special evening where you’ll learn the beautiful Ukrainian tradition of decorating pysanky - traditional Easter eggs with artist Laryssa Czebiniak of .

Laryssa has been creating pysanky since she was just 5 years old, continuing a cherished family tradition within the Ukrainian diaspora. After moving to New York City, she began organizing pysanky gatherings for friends, which later grew into public workshops for adults and children at places like the Ukrainian Institute of America.

Her work has been featured at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, 92Y StreetFest, and other cultural events across the U.S. Each egg she creates is hand-crafted using a traditional wax-resist (batik) technique with hot beeswax, forming symbolic designs that have been passed down for centuries.

✨ In this workshop you’ll learn how to create your own Pysanka and discover the meaning behind the ancient symbols.
