What a day on the course! ⛳

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Smile Farms Invitational Golf Tournament at Meadow Brook Club. From a great day of golf to live music, live painting and special experiences throughout the day, it was a memorable event from start to finish.

Most importantly, the Invitational brought together friends and supporters who share our commitment to creating opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to work, grow and contribute to their communities.

Meet James Cuomo, our 2026 Smile Farmer of the Year nominee from CP Unlimited's Cora Hoffman Center! 🧑‍🌾

James holds a special place in the history of Smile Farms at Cora Hoffman Center. He was the first Smile Farmer hired through the program's supported employment initiative, and years later, he continues to take tremendous pride in his work. 💚

James loves working in the greenhouse, where he helps grow peppers and other vegetables. He's organized, dependable, and takes ownership of keeping the greenhouse in great shape, from watering plants and pulling weeds to adding soil and getting ready for harvest. 🌶️

And harvest time is always something to celebrate! James' excitement for seeing the results of his hard work is a reminder of just how meaningful an opportunity to work, contribute, and grow can be. 🌱

We're so proud to recognize James for his years of hard work and dedication. 👏

Meet Andrew Larsen, our 2026 Smile Farmer of the Year nominee from Holly's Farm with Independent Group Home Living, Inc. (IGHL)! 🌱

Andrew may be quiet, but his hard work speaks volumes. 💚 Over the years, he has grown tremendously as a Smile Farmer, learning everything from cultivating garden beds and planting seeds to watering, weeding, and fertilizing. He is always willing to lend a hand and takes pride in earning a paycheck for his work.

This year, Andrew played an essential role in helping Holly's Farm grow. Alongside his peers, he helped fill 22 new raised beds with soil and compost, expanding the garden from 19 to 41 beds and transforming it into a tiny farm! 💪

And when the team once returned from a long weekend to find a huge tomato harvest waiting for them, Andrew took one look and said, "Wow! That's a lot of tomatoes," before jumping right in to help. 🍅

Whether he's working alongside his peers or telling visitors how much he enjoys the garden, Andrew's dedication and growth make him an important part of the Holly's Farm team.

We love seeing accessibility open the door to new experiences. 💚

Zion National Park is offering an all-terrain wheelchair for visitors with mobility challenges and disabilities, helping more people experience trails and places that may otherwise be out of reach.

At Smile Farms, we believe people of all abilities deserve opportunities to participate, explore, grow, and experience all that their communities have to offer. This is a wonderful example of what can happen when accessibility and inclusion are built into the experience.

More access means more possibilities. 🌱

Meet Daniel Bennett, our 2026 Smile Farmer of the Year nominee from Independent Group Home Living, Inc. (IGHL) Cornell Farm! 🧑‍🌾 Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County

After more than five years with Smile Farms, Daniel knows that being a great worker sometimes means seeing what needs to be done and jumping right in. 🌱

Daniel is always willing to help, puts extra effort into his work, and takes initiative instead of waiting to be given his next task. And when he isn't sure about something, he knows when to ask before getting started. 💪

His favorite job is weeding, and Daniel has become an expert at spotting what needs attention, both inside and outside of the greenhouses! 🌿

Daniel's initiative, dependability, and strong work ethic make him an important part of the Cornell Farm team. 💚

As Greenhouse Manager, Kevin takes his role seriously and brings a natural talent for farming and gardening to his work each day. 🌿

Kevin helps nurture the peppers and vegetables grown in the greenhouse and even does his own research to learn which herbs will grow best. He knows how to be a great teammate while also stepping up and taking the lead when needed.

His dedication, knowledge, and pride in his work make Kevin an important part of the Smile Farms team at Cora Hoffman Center. 💚
