One of the best parts of Smile Farms? No two campuses are the same. 🌱

Across our 14 campuses, you’ll find different gardens, different plants, different locations, and different Smile Farmers, each bringing something unique to our growing community.

Recently, Smile Farms at Nassau BOCES Rosemary Kennedy School brought over plants they started to the Catholic Health Mercy Recovery House for their backyard garden.

Love to see cross campus collaborations take root and watching new connections grow! 🌿

SIPS AND STEMS 💐 An evening filled with emotion, connection, generosity and beautiful flowers… all in support of our mission at Smile Farms. 🌷

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated and helped make the evening so memorable. A special thank you to Julie McCann Mulligan for leading such a meaningful floral experience, and to Megan and Tom Walsh for helping bring the event to life.

We’re also grateful to LoveShackFancy for donating the beautiful vases, and to Skin Suite, Cassie Kelly Custom Painting and Sole Pilates for contributing raffle prizes that made the evening even more special.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! 💚

This , hear from Alicia - a Smile Farmer at Catholic Health.

Gardening is widely recognized for its positive impact on mental health—helping reduce stress, build routine, and create a sense of calm and connection to nature. 🌱

Engaging in hands-on gardening and meaningful work not only builds skills, but also creates purpose, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Reflecting on an incredible day at the Smile Farms 12th Annual Golf Outing ⛳

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s outing so special - our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, committee members, and supporters whose generosity continues to help our mission grow!

We were proud to honor David Hersh of Rooted Hospitality Group for his partnership, leadership, and commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Thank you, David, for being a champion of our mission at Smile Farmers and helping create spaces rooted in inclusion and community.

Watch the special video shared at the outing highlighting David and Smile Farms’ partnership: https://youtu.be/XBIcaBnBk18

The outing also celebrated Matthew McElwee, this year’s Heart of Gold honoree, whose inclusive horticulture program at Nassau BOCES Rosemary Kennedy School continues to help students build confidence, independence and purpose.

What's growing? 🌱 We’re excited to share a new partnership between Smile Farms and People's Arc of Suffolk

Through this collaboration, clients from People’s Arc will have the opportunity to volunteer at Smile Farms at Saddle Rock Ranch, joining us in hands-on gardening experiences designed to be accessible and welcoming for everyone.

Our raised bed gardens make it possible to participate without needing to work directly on the ground—helping ensure gardening is inclusive and approachable for all abilities.

For some participants, gardening is a new experience—and not something they initially felt drawn to—but we’re already seeing curiosity grow as they engage with the space in their own way.

We’re excited to welcome Kyle and Caleb, who will be joining us in the garden twice a week. We’re excited to watch their progress and the impact this partnership will continue to grow over time 🌿

Partnerships like this reflect what Smile Farms is all about: creating accessible, meaningful, enjoyable opportunities where everyone can participate, contribute, and thrive.

On Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice and hold their families in our thoughts today.

Spring has sprung in Smithtown 🌱 Smile Farms

Smile Farms at Catholic Health St. Catherine of Siena Hospital is growing more than just produce. With seven raised garden beds, this campus brings together students and community partners to grow fresh crops that will be donated to local food pantries and used in the hospital’s kitchens.

Managed in partnership with the Smile Farms Club at St. Anthony's High School, the Smithtown Youth Bureau, the Winters Center for Autism, and Smithtown Horizons Counseling and Education Center, this garden is a beautiful example of what can grow when a community comes together. 🌿
