Tomorrow night in Milton!

Sensory-friendly Masses hold a very special place in my heart 💜

The photo on this graphic is actually of Lexi and me at Mass, and it is a reminder of why inclusive worship matters so much. Everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in their faith community in a setting where they feel welcomed, understood, and loved.

Several sensory-friendly Masses are scheduled throughout the remainder of 2026 at Our Lady of Fatima in Lafayette and St. Joseph Church in Milton. These Masses are especially welcoming to individuals with sensory needs, disabilities, and their families, but everyone is welcome.

Please share this information with a family, caregiver, teacher, friend, or anyone who may benefit from knowing these opportunities are available in our community.

And if you’ve ever wondered whether you or your loved one would be welcome, I hope the words on this graphic say it best:

YOU ASKED. WE LISTENED 💙

So many of you have asked about a sleeve, I am so excited to announce that they will be available to order in the next coming weeks 🤩

These are so handy and special because:

- Parents & caregivers can keep one with them as a backup communication option.

- First responders & paramedics could have one available when helping someone who is non-speaking, temporarily unable to speak, overwhelmed, injured, or experiencing a communication barrier.

- Nurses & healthcare workers could use one with patients who are unable to communicate verbally.

- Teachers, EAs & support workers could have another portable communication option available in classrooms, on field trips, or in the community.

They can travel with you, live in a purse, backpack, emergency kit, classroom, vehicle or work bag, you can take it off and hand it someone else!

I cannot wait to see where these sleeves end up and all the different people they might help communicate.

Because communication isn’t a luxury. It’s a human right 💙

Families for Inclusion is excited to announce that we will be piloting our newest program, Kids for Inclusion, in Spring 2027!

Kids for Inclusion is an interactive program designed to teach children about disability awareness, inclusion, empathy, and understanding. A key part of the program will be real-life simulations that give kids the opportunity to experience some of the challenges individuals with disabilities may navigate in their everyday lives. Through these hands-on experiences, conversations, and activities, we hope to encourage kids to see the world from a different perspective and understand how they can help create a more inclusive community.

We are incredibly grateful to Lake Charles Toyota for believing in this vision and sponsoring Kids for Inclusion. Their support is helping us bring this program to life and, most importantly, helping us reach the next generation.

Interested in having us visit your group? Reach out to Families for Inclusion to get on our Spring 2027 schedule! If you have a group of youth that meets regularly, whether it's a club, church or religious group, youth organization, team, or other community group, we'd love the opportunity to come present Kids for Inclusion at one of your meetings this Spring!
