Today is National Grief Awareness Day, a time to recognize the loss of our loved ones and the profound impact of their life and death.

At Saint Agatha Foundation, we partner with a variety of providers to support breast cancer patients both pursuing treatment and preparing for every possibility on the road to recovery.

When a Stage IV breast cancer patient learned that she only had six months to live, support from Saint Agatha Foundation helped secure her will and power of attorney — and safeguard her family’s future.

In Central New York, access to advanced breast cancer screening technology can be limited, particularly in rural communities. Saint Agatha Foundation is working to change that.

As part of our $2.3 million in regional grants, Samaritan Medical Center Foundation in Jefferson County received critical funding to acquire a Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM) system. This next-gen technology will provide clinicians with additional information to help guide treatment decisions, giving people access to advanced breast cancer care closer to home.

In 2020, five lifelong friends founded The Ho**er Crew to raise funds for Oswego locals diagnosed with breast cancer. The organization reached out to Saint Agatha Foundation last year, donating $10,000 to help women and families impacted by the disease.

This past weekend, both groups met to celebrate the strength of their partnership, with Saint Agatha Foundation receiving another generous $10,000 donation from the A*Z Dogs Motorcycle Club.

We look forward to many more years working with The Ho**er Crew, and advancing our shared mission in to provide comfort, compassion, and care for people facing breast cancer.
