Thank you to Sam's Club #8111, for supporting PAWS‑n‑PURRsist with a $500 Spark Good Local Grant! 💙🐾

Because of your funding, we’ve been able to continue providing services to pets and the people who love them—including emergency boarding during housing crises, safe care while owners enter treatment, and essential vaccinations and spay/neuter services.

Knowing their pet is safe and loved gives people the chance to focus on their next steps toward recovery and stability, with the hope of being together again.

We are truly grateful for your investment in our community and the families we serve. Your generosity helps make sure a temporary crisis doesn’t mean a permanent goodbye. ❤️

I may have been born with a love for animals, but the tech-savvy brain apparently wasn’t included. 😂🐾

Updating the PAWS-n-PURRsist website, working through applications, and figuring out how to make our forms do what I need them to do takes me longer than I’d like to admit. Add in being a single mom, working a full-time job, and other commitments, and sometimes there just aren’t enough hours.

But I love this work. And I appreciate the patience this community continues to give me while I learn.

The need across Southern Indiana and Greater Louisville is so great. Behind every application is someone trying to get through a crisis without losing the pet they love. My brain wants to find an answer for every one of them. Sometimes I have to remind myself to take a breath.

I cannot personally fix every situation. I trust that God brings the people, the resources, and the opportunities. I get to help connect them—to be a spoke in the wheel—and I’m grateful I get to do that.

I recently attended the IUS career fair, and I’m hopeful that one of the people who shared a résumé might join us as an intern and bring skills to the things I’m still trying to figure out. Our board members are also busy behind the scenes, building contacts, finding grant opportunities, and opening doors so we can continue expanding our services.

If you believe in our mission, I would love your support. Maybe you understand websites, technology, fundraising, or community outreach. Maybe you can foster, introduce us to a potential partner, or give a little of your time. Please message us if you’d like to get involved.

God continues to open doors. I’m learning to trust His timing—even when my brain is trying to open all of them at once. ❤️

🐾 We’ve updated our website and application forms at PAWS-n-PURRsist!

As requests for temporary foster care continue to grow, we’ve added a resource to help connect pets needing care with people willing to foster. ❤️

Applying for help? The application now includes options to give permission for your pet to be shared on social media and our website. Your anonymity will be protected—your name, contact information, and personal circumstances will not be made public.

Listings will include only your pet’s name, breed, personality traits, and photos if you choose to upload them.

Interested in fostering? Visit pawsnpurrsist.com and go to “Get Help” or “Get Involved” to find the link to pets currently needing foster care!

Please allow a couple of days for applications to be processed and listings to appear. We’re a very small volunteer team, and we appreciate your patience as we respond to the growing number of requests.

🐾❤️ 26 PETS. COUNTLESS SECOND CHANCES. ONE AMAZING COMMUNITY! ❤️🐾

As we approach our official ONE-YEAR anniversary on November 5, 2026, we have so much to be grateful for!

When PAWS-n-PURRsist began, we set a goal of helping 10 pets remain with the families who love them during our first year.

Today, October 14, 2026, we are incredibly proud to share that 26 pets have been kept with the families who love them, and another 5 pets are currently in foster care! 🐶🐱❤️

We’ve already achieved 260% of our original first-year goal, and we couldn’t have done it without YOU!

❤️ THIS MILESTONE BELONGS TO OUR COMMUNITY! ❤️

To every foster family who has opened their home, every volunteer who has given their time, every donor who has contributed, every organization that has partnered with us, and every person who has shared our mission — THANK YOU!

Because of you, we continue to open doors, remove barriers, and most importantly, find ways to say YES when someone experiencing a crisis needs help keeping their beloved pet safe.

Every pet we help represents a person or family who has been given the opportunity to focus on obtaining the resources they need without the added heartbreak of losing a beloved member of their family.

Because family is family — even fur family! 🐾❤️

Behind the scenes, we continue working hard to secure funding, pursue grant opportunities, build meaningful community partnerships, and expand our network of foster families so we can continue saying YES to those who need us.

🐾❤️ COOPER IS FINALLY HOME! ❤️🐾

Some reunions are captured in photos, while others are simply felt in our hearts. 🥹❤️

Today, we celebrate Cooper and his dad being BACK TOGETHER! 🏡🐶

Cooper’s dad worked incredibly hard to overcome the crisis that temporarily separated them. Through determination, perseverance, and a whole lot of love, he was able to access the resources he needed to move forward. And today, Cooper is right where he belongs. HOME! ❤️

While we love sharing those beautiful reunification photos, we also believe in respecting the privacy and anonymity of the individuals and families we serve. Not every reunion needs a photograph to tell a powerful story.

At PAWS-n-PURRsist, we are honored by the trust placed in us during some of life’s most difficult moments. We are grateful that we could step in, care for Cooper, and remove one more barrier standing between his dad and the resources he needed to rebuild.

This is why we do what we do. Because sometimes all someone needs is a little time, a helping hand, and the reassurance that their beloved pet will be waiting when they’re ready. 🐾

Behind every application, every email, and every voicemail is a person facing a difficult chapter in life, hoping to find a safe place for the pet they love.

Lately, we’ve seen a significant increase in requests for assistance. While our hearts want to say YES to every single one, the reality is that we are a small, volunteer-based nonprofit working hard to meet a need that continues to grow.

💜 To those waiting to hear from us: Please know you have not been forgotten. We are working diligently to respond to emails, applications, and voicemails while searching for available fosters and building relationships with community partners. We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and grace as we navigate this growing demand.
