What an incredible day at Jackson County Agriculture Day! 🌱🐄
We were proud to welcome over 900 5th grade students from across the county for a full day of hands-on learning, exploration, and connection to agriculture. From livestock to natural resources to careers in agriculture, students experienced just how important and diverse our agricultural community truly is.
This event would not be possible without the amazing support of our booth hosts who gave their time, knowledge, and passion to educate our youth. A special thank you to the Empower College & Career Academy FFA Officers for hosting several engaging booths throughout the day, along with the Mobile Dairy Classroom, NRCS – Natural Resource Conservation Service, UNG – College & Careers in Agriculture, UNG – Crops & Animal Feed, Pilgrim’s (Chicks), Risen Lamb Farm (Sheep), Trevor Jones, Jackson County Cattlemen's Association, Love of Llamas, Ally Bees, Galilee Veterinary, Oconee County Extension (Bats), Commerce Beekeeping Club, and our very on ANR Agent Greg Pittman. Your willingness to invest in our youth and share your expertise made this day truly meaningful.
A very special thank you to the Jackson County Farm Bureau for providing lunch for all of our booth hosts and volunteers. Your continued support of agriculture education and our community does not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful.
We are also incredibly thankful for our volunteers, teachers, and partners who helped make the day run smoothly. Events like this truly showcase the power of collaboration and the importance of agricultural literacy.
And most importantly—our students showed up curious, engaged, and ready to learn. That’s what it’s all about.
Additionally, this event would not be possible without the continued support of the Jackson County Agriculture Facility and their commitment to our youth and agricultural education.
