🖍️ A great new resource for Dubois County families and child care providers!

Visit https://www.duboiscountyearlycare.org to explore local early care and education information, child care options, and resources to support families and providers.

Access to early care is important for our children, families, and local workforce. We appreciate the Dubois County Community Foundation and the Dubois County Early Care & Education Coalition for their shared commitment to strengthening early care and education in our community!

Through the work of the Dubois County Early Care & Education Coalition—an initiative of the Community Foundation—we're excited to share a new resource for families and providers: duboiscountyearlycare.org

This website serves as a local hub for early care and preschool information, provider resources, and tools that support young children and the adults who care for them. Families can explore local child care and preschool options and access resources to help them navigate their early care journey. The first 5 years shape a lifetime.🌟

Investing in our students today helps build a stronger workforce for tomorrow. We’re proud to partner with Hub 19, VUJ, Patoka Valley Career Cooperative, our local schools, and community businesses and organizations to connect students with career opportunities and showcase the many possibilities available right here in Dubois County.

570 Freshmen. Four high schools. Eight career pathways. One community investing in their future! Today's Tour of Opportunity connected ninth grade students from Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools, Northeast Dubois Jr/Sr High School, Southwest Dubois School Corporation, and Southeast Dubois County School Corporation with 22 industry and community partner organizations and an estimated 220+ local professionals.

Students chose a pathway that interested them, stepped inside local workplaces and experienced careers firsthand through hands-on job shadowing. Afternoon sessions at VUJ connected those experiences to high school CTE programs and postsecondary education opportunities.

The message in our opening session was simple. You don't have to figure out your entire future today. Be curious. Ask questions. Show up. Use what you learn to make your next right decision.

This day reflects a collaboration among Hub 19, Inc., Vincennes University Jasper, Dubois Strong Economic Development Corporation and the Patoka Valley Career Cooperative and the commitment of the schools, professionals and organizations who made it possible. Thank you for opening your doors and helping students see what is possible right here in our community.

Exciting news for Dubois County! Our own Jami Marcum, Community Development Coordinator, has been involved in the effort to bring a Boys & Girls Club to our community from its early stages.

After nearly three years of conversations, planning, partnerships and community support, this vision is becoming a reality. The Club will provide a valuable afterschool resource for local families, working parents and employers.

Join us for the Open House as we celebrate this important investment in our community and recognize the many individuals and partners who helped bring this vision to life. This effort has been guided by a dedicated Advisory Council, whose time, ideas and expertise have helped move the vision forward.

Congratulations to the Huntingburg Regional Airport on today’s ribbon cutting with Governor Braun, the INDOT Office of Aviation, and leaders from across Dubois County.

The Huntingburg Airport contributes approximately $20 million in annual economic impact. This investment in regional infrastructure strengthens Dubois County’s ability to attract and retain businesses, support future investment, and advance long-term economic growth.

Dubois Strong and IncCodes have completed the initial findings phase of the housing-focused zoning review underway in Jasper, Huntingburg, and Ferdinand.

One early finding is that some of the neighborhoods people already value in Dubois County would be difficult to build again under today’s zoning rules.

The next phase will test current regulations against real-world housing scenarios to better understand where local codes are working and where they may unintentionally limit future housing options.

Read the full initial findings report and learn more:
