Save the date for our fall trip to Mount Magazine, Arkansas, located in the state park. This crag features a 50/50 split trad and sport climbing, as well as camping and a lodge (see the state park website), making it suitable for any type of climbing trip experience you seek. The routes are sunny and protected from wind, so prep for some classic balmy late fall climbing. More info to come, but get your calendars marked! See you out there x

We’re bringing climbers, families, and friends together for a relaxed weekend of climbing, camping, campfires, and quality time in nature.

This isn’t just a climbing trip, it’s a chance to unplug, introduce kids and loved ones to the outdoor community, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones. All climbing abilities are welcome, and you’re encouraged to join even if climbing isn’t your main activity.

Nick will bring multiple ropes, and is happy to lead routes in 5.6-5.11 range to hang top ropes anytime we are out climbing. Bring your preferred belay device, and a harness for yourself and the kid(s). For kids new to climbing: I wouldn’t worry about climbing shoes (they can wear street shoes) or chalk bags, and they can wear their bike helmet. Parents, if you are new to climbing.. now is the time to get belay certified with RoKC or IBEX and continue practicing PBUS technique to prepare to belay your little human(s) safely on the trip; Our trips are open to all skill levels, but having basic belay skills is required.

Camp sites are first-come-first served, free, and pretty flat. Please note the campground has NO WATER and NO ELECTRICITY, but there are pit toilets. Cell signal is very limited.

Reminder!!! Due to hot temps forecasted in Arkansas, we moved the trip this weekend up north to South Dakota!

Gather the kiddos and join us for a family trip! These trips are a great opportunity to meet new friends, explore beautiful places, and choose your own adventure; our trips are casual, and you can arrive and leave at your leisure.

Nick will bring multiple ropes, and is happy to lead trad routes in 5.6-5.10 range to hang top ropes anytime we are out climbing. Note there is only top rope and trad climbing at the park, with a lot of routes in the 5.7 - 5.9 range. Bring your preferred belay device, and a harness for yourself and the kid(s). For kids new to climbing: I wouldn’t worry about climbing shoes (they can wear street shoes) or chalk bags, and they can wear their bike helmet. Update: Due to hot temps forecasted in Arkansas, we are moving our Labor Day family trip up north to South Dakota! 5.5 hr drive from KC.
