I have been getting a lot of questions about when and where tryouts/open practices will take place. I wanted to make a quick post because I know people are getting sent here from the local softball pages.

I do not plan on hosting tryouts/open practices until Sunday, January 11th in Salado. Team practices will be hosted at either Salado or Jarrell fields. Fields in Salado have been secured one day each weekend starting January 11th.

We will only be looking for a couple of girls for the spring season.

Dues will be between $100-$150 per month. (Dues were $100/month for fall because we had some great sponsors and the 1 team fundraiser went great)With 3 tournaments per month, your daughter will be playing quite a bit in Spring. We are primarily all 2012’s so these high volume reps will be extremely important for their development going into their freshman year of High School. Tournaments for us will start as early as the last weekend in January. We are already signed up for quite a few NCS tournaments as well.

Be on the lookout for the flyer sometime next week and we look forward to hearing from you. Please message me if you are interested in tryouts with your daughter’s name, positions she plays, and previous teams.

Thank you!

This past weekend was the Pink Out tournament up in Killeen which hosted 20 - 14U teams. Saturday was a very rough day for the girls as we lost both pool games and the one bracket game we had. Since we lost that meant that we had to play the 7:50am game which has not been our strong suit. The team we had to play was CTX Fury again which is now our 6th time in 3 tournaments, 3 pool games and this is the 3rd bracket game we have had to compete against them. We went down early 4-0 in the top of the first inning. Going into the top of the third we allowed another run which put us down 5-0. Bottom of the third inning we were able to put up 3 runs but time was running out. The tournament was 70min bracket games, finish the inning. We had runners on first and second and I told them both to just run and either keep going all the way home or get tagged out. The lead runner got tagged out and we were able to start a whole new inning with only 43 seconds left. At this point we are down 5-3. We allowed one run in the top of the 4th so that meant we need three runs to tie, 4 to win it. In the bottom of the 4th we had some amazing hits by multiple girls on the team and we were able to tie the game and send it into ITB (international tie breaker). This meant each team got a runner on second and third with one out. They had a good hit to right field and scored both runners for them to go up 8-6. We got the last two strikeouts to end the top of the inning and we were back up to try to win the game. The girls were able to battle back and scored 3 runs to walk it off in the bottom of the 5th inning to win 9-8. The families of both teams were on their feet pacing back and forth ever since the bottom of the fourth. It was an amazing atmosphere and experience for the girls on both teams.

Our next bracket game we were able to win 4-0 against Canes 14U. We ultimately fell short in the following game 6-5 to Manor Bomb Squad and got sent home earlier than we wanted.

Our next tournament will be in Georgetown October 25-26, yall need to be there to share in the excitement. This team is becoming something special.

Our third tournament of the season was up in Temple for the NCS Battle of the Belts. This was a one day tournament that was double elimination. Our first pool game was at noon and then immediately jumped into bracket play. We dropped our first game to GT Elite. The girls battled all the way through and the bats got hotter and hotter wn route to the championship game. They walked it off in the bottom of fourth inning to win 2-1 against CTX Fury. Next game against Bombers was 10-3. Next game was 11-0 against Corespeed. We were down 2-1 going into the third inning of the championship game when the fatigue set in for the girls we ended up losing 7-1. First bracket game was at 2:20 and the championship game ended about 9:30, just over 7 hours of non stop softball.

Our MVP of the tournament was Aubrey with a .714 BA and a OPS of 1.414 and she hit the sac fly in the bottom of the fourth for the walk off win against CTX Fury.

Our second tournament was out in Taylor for the Back to School Blues “C” class teams only for NCS. Our first bracket game was against Unity which ended up winning the whole tournament and we lost 1-4. The girls came back Sunday for their second bracket game against Texas United - Brazos Valley. We jumped out to an early 4-2 lead after the first inning. Ultimately we ended up losing 5-7 and got sent home early. It was not the result we were hoping for but the girls fought hard and were very competitive against the two teams that ended up competing in the championship game.

First tournament in Gatesville on August 23/24 was a great team effort right out of the gate. We placed 2nd against some great competition at the 3MT Sports tournament. The girls had only been practicing together for about two weeks leading up to this tournament. Special thanks to our older Mud Ducks team for letting us pick up some of their players to help lead our girls.

We are a first year 14U team softball team based out of central texas that is dedicated to player development, concentrating on the mental side of the game. Working on getting the players ready for high school softball and beyond.

Coach Xander and Coach Alex pride themselves on building a positive atmosphere within the team and holding the girls accountable for their attitudes and effort at all times.
