Hershel is an ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS 4-year-old, 23lb cuddle bug with deep, soulful eyes. One look at this boy and your heart will melt!

His Story
Hershel’s family loved him dearly, but made the selfless choice to reach out to us so he could find a home where he can be the only pet. We promised them we’d find him the absolute best life possible, and we’re happy to deliver!

🐾 SAFE AT LAST: Welcome, Sweet Estella! 🐾

Meet Estella! She’s a super sweet, 6-year-old, 21 lb Cocker Spaniel who has been through quite a journey, but her story takes a bright, beautiful turn starting today.

Estella was originally surrendered to the Carson Shelter, where staff discovered her microchip belonged to a prior owner. After going through a microchip hold and sadly being surrendered a second time, she is officially safe with us, and her brand-new chapter begins right now!

Next stop: Our sanctuary in Jamestown, CA!

10,000 SURGERIES AND COUNTING! 🐾🎉

We are absolutely thrilled to share a massive milestone with our community: since opening our doors in April 2024, Second Chance Spay and Neuter Clinic has officially completed over 10,000 spay and neuter surgeries!

That’s 10,000 cats and dogs helped, countless accidental litters prevented, and an unbelievable amount of support given to our local rescue partners, like Sonora Cat Rescue and SCCR, to help them double down on their life-saving work.

Dr. Temple and our incredible clinic team work tirelessly every single day to ensure that affordable, high-quality care is accessible to individuals and rescues alike. From keeping adoptable pups thriving to gearing up for the busiest weeks of kitten season, their dedication is the heartbeat of this clinic.

But we aren't stopping at 10,000! As we celebrate how far we've come, we're also looking forward to keeping your pets healthy from head to toe. Don't forget that we are currently booking appointments for our low-cost dental services, which include: • A pre-dental exam • Full bloodwork panel • Dental X-rays

HELP SANDERS FIND HIS FOREVER HOME!

Sanders is ready for a forever family to cherish him and a lifetime of adventures by their side.

While this sweet two-year-old boy is safe and loved at our sanctuary, he is dreaming of the day he gets to wake up in a home of his very own.

This week, Sanders went on a river trip with our volunteers, and his gentle spirit truly shined. He proved to be the ultimate adventure buddy; diving for rocks, splashing in the water, and riding like an absolute champion in the car.

Sanders is a quiet, 25 lb, soulful Cockapoo. He can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but give him just a soft voice and a minute of patience, and he melts into complete, devoted love. He fits in beautifully with other dogs and offers the sweet spot between outdoor partner and couch cuddle bug.

So many of our dogs find their forever homes simply because our village shares their stories. Please take a moment to share Sanders; it might be your post that leads his future family right to him. Or even better, fill out an application to make this boy part of your forever family!

🚨 🚨 CRITICAL EMERGENCY: SAVE SABASTIAN 🚨
⚠️ DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY (7/22) @ 3:00 PM

Meet Sabastian. He is a beautiful 5-year-old chocolate boy running out of time at the Las Vegas shelter. Second Chance Cocker Rescue wants to give this sweet soul the future he deserves, and we meed help getting him from LAS VEGAS to BAKERSFIELD, CA or if you are able: but we need a commitment NOW.

Sabastian arrived as a stray on 7/19, confused, hurting, and completely alone. He has a heart murmur and severe skin issues, but his eyes need the most love. He suffers from severe cherry eye and suspected dry eye, which has severely limited his vision. Because the world is a blur to him right now, he is frightened and needs a slow, gentle hand to show him he is safe. Beneath the medical hurdles is a beautiful boy just waiting for a chance to trust, heal, and love.

At Second Chance Cocker Rescue, we believe every dog deserves a true second chance at life, but we cannot do it without you. Sabastian needs a village to save him before Wednesday's 3 PM deadline.

Let’s not let his story end in a shelter kennel. Please help us bring Sabastian into the safe, loving arms of rescue. Every share, every dollar, and every tag brings him one step closer to the beautiful life he was always meant to live.

We are looking for a special Sanctuary Home just for Rocky Little Bit. He is a 13-year-old, 10-pound Pomeranian who is the definition of "zero trouble." He’s super sweet, well-mannered, and loves nothing more than napping right at your feet.

We Cover the Medical Costs!

For Rocky, Second Chance Cocker Rescue will pay for all of his medications and vet visits for the rest of his life. You provide the food, toys, and love; we handle his medical bills!

Meet Our Newest Pup, Ranger!

Found as a stray in San Bernardino, CA, this sweet boy is nothing but love and energy (especially if a tennis ball is involved!).

We’ve officially dubbed this the "Summer of the Cherry Eye." Ranger is our fourth cocker spaniel in the last two months needing this procedure. Luckily, it’s only one eye, but the surgery will still cost $1,200.

We want to keep saving dogs just like Ranger, but we can't do it without our village. If you can spare a few dollars to help cover his medical care, it would mean the world to us and to him!
