The Kofago Institute is proud to invite our community to the Second Annual Teranga Conference, taking place June 12–14, 2026 in New York City!
This year’s theme, “Guardians of Culture: Building Sanctuary through Art and Education,” reflects our continued commitment to preserving, celebrating, and advancing the traditions of the African Diaspora through dance, research, education, and community engagement.
Over the course of the weekend, participants will experience dance classes, lecture-demonstrations, lectures, panel discussions, cultural exchange, and live performance featuring artists, educators, scholars, students, and cultural practitioners.
We are also excited to host a Youth Dance Intensive on Friday, June 12th at Gibney Studios, and we invite educators, schools, and youth organizations to bring their middle school and high school students to participate in this powerful day of movement, learning, and cultural connection.
Registration is now open and tickets are available:
