📣 Local Businesses — We Need Your Help! ❤️

Lil’ Bean Cafe has the very first Box for Bellies fundraising sign, and we’re on a mission to help reach the $12,000 goal to feed children right here in Onslow County this holiday season.

Having this sign displayed has already sparked conversations, questions, and donations — and we’d LOVE to get more local businesses involved over the next couple of weeks!

"Five years ago, I started Boxes for Bellies with one simple hope — that no child in our county would go hungry over the holidays. What began as a small idea through my cafe, The Grazing Tray, turned into something much bigger: a community coming together to feed, love, and lift up one another.

Even though The Grazing Tray closed this year, the heart behind Boxes for Bellies still beats strong. This mission has never been about one business — it’s about all of us. And this year, I passed the torch to other incredible small business leaders to carry it forward, continuing to fill those boxes — and those bellies — with care.

I’ll be honest: this has been a hard year for me personally, and I know I’m not alone in that. It’s been a hard year for many families and individuals, too. The holidays can feel heavier when you’re trying to make ends meet. But the beauty of this community is that together, we can lift that burden.

If each of us supports just one child — we can make a world of difference in our community.

Bringing it back to where it all started with Sam and The Grazing Tray in 2021. What started as a small goal of 50 children, turned into 900 children fed that season and for every season thereafter. 💛 Boxes for Bellies is back! 💛

Our community is coming together to feed Onslow County students over Christmas break… but we can’t do it without you.

🎁 Each box costs just $14 and helps ensure local kids have healthy, filling meals while school is out. We are utilizing several resources to make the $14 stretch as far as possible for each box!

👉 Local businesses — we’re calling on you! In a time of uncertainy, the local community always comes together! ❤️

Who do you know that could sponsor 5 boxes, 10 boxes or even MORE boxes? Every bit helps fill a child’s belly this holiday season and by utilizing the help of United Way of Onslow County CHEW program this $14 will go so much further then if you were to navigate it on your own! Plus, it is a tax deductible donation.

If you can’t give, please share this post or join us at the pack-out event where we’ll assemble the boxes together. There’s a huge need in our community, and many hands make light work.
