⚓️ ONE MISSION. ONE CHAOTIC ARMY. ⚓️

Can we just take a second and appreciate this crew? ❤️

Over the last few months, we’ve watched complete strangers become family. People have shown up with chainsaws, paint brushes, pressure washers, drills, trucks, trailers, prayers, encouragement, and a whole lot of sweat.

Together we’ve painted buildings, cleaned boats, cleared brush, hauled trash, fixed things we didn’t know how to fix, and somehow laughed through all of it.

But we’re not done yet.

Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by, volunteered, shared a laugh, or supported the Redfish Roundup. We met so many awesome people and left with full hearts.

Big shoutout to the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament, Jacksonville Marine Charities, and all the sponsors for making this incredible event possible—and for choosing Safe Harbor Boys’ Home as this year’s beneficiary.

🎣⚓ IF IT INVOLVES FISHING, BOATS, AND A LITTLE CHAOS… YOU ALREADY KNOW WE’LL BE THERE. ⚓🎣

This Saturday, the Hot Mess Harbor crew is heading out to volunteer at the Redfish Roundup and we are WAY too excited about it. We NEED your help! 🌊☀️🐟

We are also incredibly honored and grateful that Safe Harbor Boys’ Home & Maritime Academy is once again being supported as a beneficiary of this amazing event. The fishing community has shown us so much love, encouragement, and belief in what we’re doing here, and we truly do not take that lightly. ❤️

There’s just something special about saltwater, good people, early mornings at the boat ramp, and watching our young men light up around the fishing community and life on the water.

We’ll be helping serve throughout the event, cheering people on, probably sweating through our shirts, definitely making memories, and doing what we love most — building community while helping raise up incredible young men.

Okay Jacksonville… we need the Harbor crew to SHOW UP. 💥

On May 30th, Safe Harbor has the huge honor of being the beneficiary of the Redfish Roundup tournament fundraiser, and honestly? We want to roll in DEEP with volunteers, good vibes, chaotic boat energy, and a whole lot of people willing to serve well. 😂⚓

This is one of those moments where community matters.

We want people helping with setup.
We want people helping with breakdown.
We want people hanging out all day.
We want Safe Harbor shirts everywhere.
We want loud laughs, sunburns, teamwork, fishing stories, and controlled chaos. 🤝🎣☀️

⏰ Volunteer Needs:

Okay friends… it’s time. 😂🙏⚓️

Somehow, through the chaos, busted projects, random emergencies, power outages, coffee-fueled meetings, boats doing boat things, and Alex & Matt trying to hold life together with zip ties and prayer… God keeps showing up at Safe Harbor.

And honestly? We know we can’t do this without prayer.

So on Friday, May 29th at 6:30 PM, we’re inviting everybody out to campus for a Night of Prayer at Safe Harbor Boys’ Home.

We’re talking:
🙏 Praying over the campus
🙏 Praying over the boys in and coming into the program
🙏 Praying over the mission and future of Safe Harbor
🙏 Praying over the staff (because… whew 😂)
🙏 Walking around the property covering this whole place in prayer and encouragement

This community has already blown us away. Churches, small groups, volunteers, friends, supporters, and complete strangers have continued showing up to help push this mission forward, and we want this night to be about bringing everybody together under one purpose.

Also… 📖 BIBLE DRIVE TIME.

Our campus Bible collection has officially entered the “well-loved and held together by faith” stage. 😂 So if you have any new or gently used Bibles sitting on a shelf collecting dust, bring them with you! We would LOVE to put them into the hands of boys, mentors, and staff here on campus.

We desperately need volunteer tutors at Safe Harbor Boys' Home — especially for HIGH SCHOOL MATH and CHEMISTRY before Alex starts crying into a calculator and Matt teaches chemistry using diesel fuel and WD-40. 🫠

A lot of our boys are rebuilding their education from the ground up, and having people willing to sit down, encourage them, explain things differently, and simply SHOW UP can genuinely change the trajectory of a young man’s life.

You do NOT have to be a full-time teacher.
You just have to care.

🚨 Hot Mess Harbor help request because apparently the to-do list keeps growing 😅⚓

We are desperately looking for a CPR / First Aid instructor who would be willing to donate their time and help us out at by coming in and running some classes for our team.

If you are qualified, know someone qualified, used to teach, currently teach, retired from teaching, or know that one person who somehow always knows everybody… please send them our way.

This would help us in a huge way right now and fill a very real need for us.

We are absolutely accepting prayers, connections, miracle introductions, and kind humans willing to step in and serve 🙏🤍

Hot Mess Harbor is officially putting out a prayer request + a people request.

We are looking for the right licensed therapist to join what God is building here at Safe Harbor Boys' Home.

Not just any therapist.
The right one.

A strong, grounded, faith-filled, licensed therapist who understands that this work is deeper than appointments and paperwork — it’s walking with teenage boys who need truth, consistency, healing, and somebody who knows how to help untangle hard things with wisdom and care.

This role starts part-time and has room to grow.
Florida license required.
Could be in person or online if it’s the right fit.

And honestly? We believe the right person may come through prayer, through sharing, through somebody saying, “Wait… I know exactly who needs to see this.”

So if somebody comes to mind — send them our way.
If you know a therapist who loves Jesus and wants their work to matter deeply — tell them to reach out.

We are once again asking you to come help us make this place less chaotic... while fully embracing the chaos.
Safe Harbor Boys' Home Serve Weekend is back THIS Friday + Saturday (April 24–25) and honestly... we have reached that beautiful stage where everything needs paint, pressure washing, landscaping, cleaning, lifting, moving, fixing, and probably somebody saying, “Wait... who moved that?”

So naturally... we need people. Happy people. Helpful people. People who don’t mind a little dirt, loud music, random tools everywhere, and the occasional surprise project that no one saw coming.

This week’s chaos includes:
• Painting things that desperately need painting
• Landscaping things trying to become wild
• Pressure washing things that forgot their original color
• Building / restoration projects
• Boatyard cleanup
• Final detail work to make this place sparkle
No special skills required — if you can smile, carry something, sweep something, paint something, or ask “what next?”... you qualify.

Schedule:
• Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Lunch provided because chaos burns calories 🍽️

It’s gonna be loud, productive, slightly unhinged, and honestly a really good time.
