Duval County Envirothon The Duval County Envirothon is a problem-solving, natural resource education program for high school The current environmental issue is different each year.

The Envirothon is a national high school competition with program focuses on the following five areas of study: Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Soils/Land Use, Wildlife, and Current Environmental Issue. Duval County high schools are encouraged to participate and enter up to 2 teams. Winners of the Duval County competition will move on to the Florida statewide competition hosted in central Florida. These interrelated and broad study areas teach a holistic approach to natural resource conservation and can easily be incorporated into a teaching curriculum. The event is put together by a team of dedicated volunteers, teachers and local agencies. The event is hosted by the Duval Soil and Water Conservation District with the aid of sponsorship from the community.
