Looks like the Lord is blessing us with a great day Wednesday the 26th to celebrate 40 of our veterans by taking them fishing. We wish we could take all of them at once. We are trying for 3 more trips by the end of the year assuming the weather will start cooperating with us. Make a great day and God bless.

I have had alot of requests for veterans wanting to get signed up for a trip. We are very sorry we can not get all of you. Right now there is just 2 of us that are active in this organization. We both have have full time careers. We rely on Wounded Warrior Project to find our veterans and do our administrative work of verifying them and doing background checks. Wounded Warrior Project also handles the administrative tasks of organizing all our veterans and getting them to the boat on time We hope in the future we will be doing this on our own. For now this is how we sign our veterans up.

I regretfully announce that we are cancelling the wednesday trip for July 22nd. Winds are going to be 25 knots with 3 to 4 foot seas. Not the ideal conditions. We have had a little better conditions where half the crew was hanging over the side. I want our vets to be able to enjoy themselves. We are looking to reschedule the end of Auguest. More to follow.

So sorry we can not control Mother Nature.

Thursday May 21st Veterans Fishing will be Volunteering with Wounded Warrior Project to revitalize Camp WIldwood out at the FSCJ campus on the North Side. https://www.fscj.edu/campuses/nassau-center/outdoor-retreat-center
Before Covid this was a very active place where wounded warrior project conducted peaceful retreats and provided counseling for troubled warriors. We are going to be spending the day revitalizing this Camp and hope to make it usable again. Revered Construction is donatiing a crew for the day to make it happen.

Veterans Fishing attended the Mayport Waterfront Market yesterday. The Market had a strong presence of 68 vendors on the shores of the beautiful St Johns River. Market is held every third Saturday of each month in the heart of Mayport Village.
Our favorite vendor of the day was Justin Bloom with Helping Heroes!
