Celebrating the Griffis Family at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida!

We are celebrating the Griffis Family. Daniel serves the community as a firefighter, and together, he and his wife, Brianne, decided to become licensed foster parents to extend their local impact. They have opened their home to care for children in crisis and medically-fragile children that require additional care. Over the last six years, they have welcomed 30 children and teens into their home.

Changing Lives with Hope: Foster Care for Florida’s Youth | 2023 Good Neighbor Awards

In 2003, REALTOR® Sandra Shank opened Hope House to give troubled teenage boys in Florida’s foster care system a supportive foundation. For 20 years, she has housed and mentored 300 of the most vulnerable boys and now plans to break ground on an affordable housing project to provide holistic care for troubled families.

Abundant Life Ministries-Hope House, Inc. is a nonprofit residential group home for boys aged 13 to 17 in foster care. Shank’s goal is to provide all aspects of the foster care system for its residents—physical, emotional and social. She develops and directs educational, administrative and recreational activities, including interviewing potential residents and managing the staff of 24/7 caregivers.

About the REALTOR®: Shank, a real estate professional of Palm Coast, Fla., is a sales associate with TAG Ventures Real Estate Services Co. and founder of Abundant Life Ministries–Hope House Inc. Shank hopes ALM–HHI will be a model for other communities, a holistic approach to foster care that includes housing for family reunification.
