We're a non-profit community organization that facilitates positive change in the Springfield Historic District through the preservation of our history and revitalization of our eclectic neighborhood. Since 1974, we've worked both behind-the-scences and publicly to create and encourage and programs, intiatives, policy, and events that make our neighborhood a great place to live and do business. LOCATION UPDATE: This month's session of Yoga in the Park, presented by TerraWise Homes, will be held indoors at the Bold City Yoga Studios at 1334 Walnut Street on Saturday, October 10 due to inclement weather.

Class still begins at 10:30 AM, and is still FREE! Led by instructors from Bold City Yoga, this class is family-friendly (ages 8+ please) and appropriate for all skill levels.

Happy spooky season, Springfield! Mark your calendars for our annual 2026 Bike-A-Boo Bike Social, Presented by TerraWise Homes!

Join us on Friday, October 23 for a leisurely bike ride around the neighborhood to take in all the spooky decorations. Meet at Sesquicentennial Park and be ready to depart at 6:30 pm. This event is FREE and open to all ages! (All riders are encouraged to have appropriate safety gear.)

Hey JAX, SPAR is participating in Florida Climate Week 2026 with support from the VoLo Foundation!
Join SPAR Operations Manager and ISA Certified Arborist®, Zach Hanson for our upcoming tour, Historic Springfield TreeWalks: Exotic Ornamentals and Climate Resilience.
This expert-guided walking tour looks beyond the ornamental value of these plants to the conditions that have enabled their survival and success.
Along the way, we'll trace each specimen's preferred ecological conditions, and geographic origins, connecting the conditions of their native habitats to the traits that make them resilient within Springfield's urban ecology. Understanding where a species comes from — the climate, soil, and disturbance patterns it evolved under — offers real insight into why it thrives (or struggles) in the built environment of a modern city and how we can cultivate plant diversity within the urban forest in a sustainable and responsible manner.
