🚨 TWO SPOTS LEFT! 🚨

We’re looking for two more trainee to join our brand-new Physics Escape Academy this fall!

This is not a sit-and-listen physics class. Each week, students ages 8–14 will investigate real physics concepts, build and test engineering solutions, and then use what they’ve learned to complete an escape-room-style mission.

They’ll take on:

🔬 Hands-on physics investigations
🛠️ Engineering build challenges
🔐 Weekly escape missions
⬛ Advanced Black File challenges
🏅 Mission badges for their lab coats
💥 One big Fall Final Escape

Over 14 weeks, students will explore forces, motion, Newton’s Laws, gravity, friction, momentum, experimental design, and more — all through problem-solving and hands-on challenges.

💡 Our Robotics & Physical Computing Academy is officially underway!

In our first class, students explored how a micro:bit can interact with the physical world. They built circuits on breadboards, connected external LEDs, and wrote code to make two lights respond to their commands.

Along the way, they learned about:

⚡ Complete electrical circuits
💡 LED polarity and resistors
💻 Inputs, processing and outputs
🔧 Testing and troubleshooting
🧠 How code controls physical devices

Watching those two LEDs light up may look like a small beginning—but it’s the first step toward building traffic signals, automated streetlights, smart-city systems and autonomous vehicles!

These young engineers are learning to create ideas, build solutions, code the future and lead with purpose. 🤖🏙️

🚨 **NEW THIS FALL: PHYSICS ESCAPE ACADEMY** 🔐⚙️

What if students didn’t just learn physics…

**What if they had to use it to escape?**

This fall, Edison Kids students ages **8–14** will become trainees inside the **Edison Research Facility** for a brand-new 14-week hands-on STEM experience.

Each week includes:

🔬 A physics investigation
🛠️ An engineering build challenge
🔐 A physics-based escape mission
⬛ An advanced **Black File** challenge
🏅 A collectible mission badge for their lab coat

Students will explore **Newton’s Laws, motion, speed, acceleration, gravity, friction, momentum, experimental design, and more** while learning to think, test, troubleshoot, and solve problems like engineers.

And every mission leads toward one big goal…

🚗🤖 How does a car learn to drive itself?

That’s one of the questions students will explore in our Robotics & Physical Computing Academy this fall.

This little micro:bit-powered robot is following a track using sensors — but this is just the beginning.

Students will use it to explore the technology and engineering concepts behind autonomous vehicles. How can a robot detect where it is? How does it respond when the road changes? Can it detect an obstacle? Make a decision? Stop before a collision?

They won’t just learn about the technology. They’ll program it, test it, watch it fail, troubleshoot it and make it better.

Along the way, students will explore micro:bit programming, sensors, motors, electronics, robotics and physical computing through hands-on engineering challenges.

Created especially for homeschool students ages 9–14, our Micro Academy combines small classes with meaningful, hands-on STEM learning.

Students can choose from four 15-week academies:

This fall, homeschool students ages 9–14 can move beyond worksheets and experience STEM through hands-on building, designing, animating, engineering and coding.

Families can choose from four 15-week academies:

⛏️ Minecraft STEM
Explore science and engineering through creative Minecraft build challenges.

🎬 Animation & Digital Media
Create stop-motion and digital 2D animation while developing storytelling and media-production skills.

⚙️ Physics & Engineering
Investigate Newton’s laws, simple machines and structural design through hands-on engineering challenges.

🤖 Robotics & Physical Computing
Build and code with micro:bit, Arduino, electronics, sensors and robotics.

Students may enroll in one academy or complete all four for a comprehensive 120-hour STEM experience.

To everyone who has made the last three years at the Center possible thank you!!!
Edison Kids is just getting started but this chapter on Normandy is over.
The memories are vast and precious we leave with.
So thank God for all You did here and may every family that was part of it be blessed.
This has been an incredible chapter in our 8 year journey and we are so excited to see what God is going to do next.
