Sierra Club Northeast Florida Group

Sierra Club Northeast Florida Group John's, and Northeast Clay Counties. Our local Northeast Florida Group, founded in 1970, has over 1800 members and many more supporters in the community.

A part of the oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States, the Northeast Florida Group of the Sierra Club has over 5,000 members and supporters in Duval, St. We organize and participate in outdoor adventures, conduct environmental education, and lobby our local and state government for pro-environmental legislation. In 2015 we celebrate our 45th

year as a group, engaged in Northeast Florida conservation and outdoor appreciation. We have monthly programs with interesting speakers, and we schedule weekend outdoor activities. Although we encourage you to join the Sierra Club, our activities are always open to non-members.

A huge thank you to the dedicated volunteers helping care for Riverside Park and its native wildlife!

Deanna Zastrow, Cindy Corey, Calder Corey, Debra Harper, and Tom Lecato have been spending countless hours supporting the park’s native plantings and the birds that depend on them. Before the recent rains arrived, volunteers were regularly watering newly installed native plants that provide food, shelter, and nesting habitat for native birds.

Their efforts help create a healthier, more resilient ecosystem for wildlife and park visitors alike. Thank you for your commitment to protecting and enhancing one of Jacksonville’s treasured natural spaces! 🌿🐦
