This Wear Orange Weekend, we wear orange for Jacquez, for every life stolen by gun violence, and for every family forced to carry an empty chair, an unanswered question, and a forever kind of grief.

Orange is more than a color. It is a call to remember. A call to honor. A call to protect lives. A call to stand with survivors who live every day with the aftermath of violence.

At Jacksonville Survivors Foundation, we stand with families impacted by homicide and gun violence โ€” not just this weekend, but every day. We wear orange because our loved ones mattered. Their stories matter. Their lives will never be forgotten.

Wear orange. Say their names. Support survivors. Help us build a community where no family has to walk this journey alone.

June is PTSD Awareness Month โ€” a reminder that not all wounds are visible.

For many homicide survivors, trauma does not end after the funeral, the court date, or the news coverage. It can show up in silence, anxiety, anger, exhaustion, flashbacks, grief, and the daily fight to keep going after losing someone to violence.

At Jacksonville Survivors Foundation, we see you. We honor the pain you carry, the strength it takes to survive, and the courage it takes to keep healing one day at a time.

You are not weak.
You are not broken.
You are surviving something that changed your life.
This month, we stand with every survivor living with invisible wounds.

Sibling grief is often invisible.

When a sibling is lost, so much is lost with them โ€” a best friend, a protector, a teammate, a memory keeper, and a part of the future that was expected.

At Jacksonville Survivors Foundation, we want siblings to know their grief matters too. Their pain is real, their loss is deep, and they deserve to be seen, heard, and supported.

If you are grieving the loss of a sibling, please know you are not alone. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’›

Sometimes grief speaks in the quietest moments.

For every mother carrying love that has nowhere to go, we see you. For every survivor longing to hear their childโ€™s voice again, we hold space for you. Love does not end. The bond remains, the memories remain, and the hope of being together again remains.

Jacksonville Survivors Foundation stands with families affected by homicide as they continue to live, remember, heal, and honor the ones they love.

You are not alone.

Jacksonville Survivors Foundation is entering a new season of growth. While healing-centered events will always be part of our work, we are restructuring our programs to focus more deeply on trauma-informed advocacy, survivor navigation, training, and education. This shift allows us to serve families more consistently, support survivors beyond a single event, and equip professionals and community partners to better understand the needs of families impacted by homicide. Our mission remains the same: no family should have to walk through the aftermath of murder alone.
