From homeless camp to hope restored 🙌
About 18 months ago, Jim came to us from Gateway — broken, fragile, and lost.

After years of homelessness, a stranger in Alabama walked through his camp and shared a prayer. That moment sparked something inside him. He picked up the phone and finally asked for help.

When Jim called his brother after nearly a year of silence, his brother said the only way he’d help was if Jim took a bus straight to rehab. That’s where he found Gateway — and where he found God.

After building a relationship with the Lord, Jim knew he needed next steps to keep growing in Christ. Gateway called us, and we took him home. 🏠

Since then, Jim has restored his relationship with his parents, his family, and even has a key to his brother’s house — something he never dreamed possible.

Today, you can find Jim cooking at NYC Pizza or leading the men of Phase 3 at Foundations of Freedom.

Congrats, Jim — your comeback is proof that faith changes everything. 💪✨

From bars to baptism 🙌

Pete spent more of his adult life behind bars than free. But during his last stay in Clay County Jail, he knew something had to change.

Through Elevate Life Church, Pete heard about Foundations of Freedom and made a promise — to get out and stay out. To become the man, father, and grandfather God designed him to be.

Last month, Pete was released to our care, jumped into the program with both feet, and last week publicly declared his faith through baptism. 💧

Made new. Redeemed. Restored.

The Promises of the 9th Step tell us we will know a new freedom and a new happiness, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, but they will always materialize if we work for them.

For Paul, parts of the last 18 months felt slow. He battled multiple health issues, completed the inpatient program at Gateway, and climbed the ranks through several jobs, only to be knocked down by more health problems and have to start over. But that’s Paul. He never gave up. He trusted in God and his community, and he never stopped working for the Promises to come true.

Today, Paul stands tall as a graduate of the program, with the career he’s been pursuing and the strongest brotherhood he’s ever had around him.

Congratulations on almost 2 years of continuous sobriety and on completing the Foundations of Freedom curriculum, Paul. We’re proud of you! 🙌

Sunday night was one for the books.

We had the honor of hearing from guest speaker Jeff Deck, who left us with tears of laughter, full hearts, and a renewed sense of hope.

His message was a beautiful reminder that no matter how far we’ve gone, how lost we may feel, or how messy our story has become, it is never too late for God to redeem us. 🙏

There is always hope. There is always grace. And no matter where we are in our story, God is never finished with us.💙

At Foundations of Freedom, our men don’t just talk about recovery — they live it. Going through the 12 Steps is a cornerstone of lasting sobriety. It’s where healing begins, accountability grows, and transformation takes root.

The steps serve as a foundational part of building long‑term recovery, helping each man uncover truth, rebuild trust, and restore purpose. Once they complete their steps, many go on to sponsor others, guiding them through the same process that changed their lives.

This is what community looks like — men supporting men, one step at a time. 💙

From broken to built. 🙌

Last year, Ken’s sister walked into The Rock Bible Church in Middleburg looking for help for her brother. That moment changed everything. 🙏

The pastor connected Ken with Foundations of Freedom, and from there, the rebuild began.

From burned bridges and broken trust to standing tall - Ken now has his family back, early termed off probation, and is managing at Interstate Roofing. 🏗️

Today, he wears that Freedom ring as proof that redemption is real and the future is bright.

Huge thank you to David for stepping up during our first-ever O3S (Open 3 Speaker) meeting! David shared his story—the hard times, the turning points, and the hope—with 50 men and their families. Watching someone stand on stage with a smile, showing that recovery is real and life after addiction is possible, is what this entire community is built on.

Mike spent years trapped in a cycle of addiction and jail time — in and out, over and over again. But one day, inside Clay County Jail, he joined an Elevate Life Church service that changed everything.

Right there, Mike made a promise: when he got out, he’d get help. No probation. No court order. Just a man ready to rebuild his life.

Today, Mike stands tall — six months sober, a chef at Eagle Landing, a leader at his church, and a father reunited with his son. 💪

From broken chains to breaking bread — Mike’s comeback is living proof that freedom starts with faith. 🙏
