HELP US WELCOME, “BALI,” the Severe Macaw, to Rainbow Parrot Rescue Florida, Inc.!! 🦜❤️🇺🇸
(Our other Severe Macaw is “Isla,” as in ‘island,’ in Spanish, so we thought Bali would work quite nicely together!!) ☀️🏝️🦩
As we celebrate Memorial Day, we take time to honor those who have served our great country, & paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. What a special way to begin such a meaningful weekend — & for us, … by welcoming a new parrot into our flock.

That’s right — Bali is a beautiful 7-year-old Severe Macaw, & we are beyond excited to have this adorable little boy here at Rainbow Parrot Rescue Florida. NAME VOTE!! 👇👇
We rarely do this here at Rainbow Parrot Rescue Florida, Inc., … however we’re really having a hard time with Xerox’s name. It’s super funny & cool, & honestly does sort of fit him, we’re just not sure if it’s the perfect name for this adorable Congo African Grey.
As you guys know, we always give our African Greys’ “Z” names, and Xerox is actually the very first Gray that technically doesn’t start with a Z… (although it definitely sounds like one, which is why we made the exception for him!)
BUT….
Now we need YOUR help deciding. We’ve narrowed it down to a few favorites, & want to know which one you like best for this handsome boy. Maybe we should keep it Xerox!!??

Rainbow Parrot Rescue Florida, Inc. is very excited to officially welcome, “Xerox,” the Congo African Grey to the flock! 🩶🦜
(And, yes, Rylan’s shirt says perfectly, … we truly are, “Called to Serve!!”)

Honestly, we think the name fits perfectly because just like a Xerox machine copies everything… this sweet boy is definitely a copier too! 😂🤣🤣🌈🦜
Xerox is a 12-year-old adorable, (most likely male,) Congo African Grey. He was DNA sexed as a baby using eggshell testing, (which we know is only about 65–70% accurate,) so today we completed new bloodwork along with a fresh DNA test and screening for the three main avian diseases. We are hoping to have his brand new, updated health certificate results back within the next 1–2 weeks, & we will absolutely keep everyone updated on Xerox’s journey here at Rainbow Parrot Rescue Florida.

CONCRETE ASSISTANCE/QUOTES/IDEAS, NEEDED FOR Rainbow Parrot Rescue Florida, Inc.!! We are looking for quotes, or someone willing to assist the charity in the backyard aviary area! Here are some pics of what it currently looks like, and what we are kinda looking for, or need direction on what/how to do with a couple areas. Just throwing random ideas out. But, it’s basically two 10x10 cement blocks we’d ideally like. Could be done separately…. Just searching for ideas right now.
(We just took the 8x8 aviary down, and will be putting a new one up soon! I’d prefer it to be in the front part extending from the covered patio.)
We live on the intercoastal of Atlantic Beach. Any recommendations?

For those of you following along on Apple’s journey, she is doing better every single day. 🦜✨ I’m even going to say she’s getting a little “spicier,” &, ahhh, “flappier,” 🤪🤣 — (if that’s even a word!)
We absolutely love seeing her personality begin to shine through more and more each day.☀️☀️☀️
She’s also getting some much needed sunshine and fresh air daily, and she is LOVING it. ☀️ Between six different medications twice a day, along with multiple supplements in both her food and water, this sweet little girl is fighting hard for a brighter future — and we are right beside her every step of the way.

With that being said, we may need a little help to keep Apple thriving here at Rainbow Parrot Rescue Florida, Inc.! 💵We are currently looking for monthly sponsors for Apple’s ongoing medical care and daily needs. Our goal is around $150 per month, (at least right now,) and we truly believe with a handful of caring supporters, we can continue giving her the love, treatment, and quality of life she deserves with this small amount. But, this amount may increase in the future. We just need the immediate assistance to keep her thriving here.

In the meantime, absolutely anything you can do to help us is deeply appreciated. We have appointments coming up, and her medications and supplements are definitely not cheap — plus the cost of her extra high-potency food is pricey, but we have already noticed an amazing difference; one I wasn’t sure was even possible to this point!
