We want to say Thank You! A couple months ago, we shared our need to raise funds for the upcoming CareGivers Conference. We set our goal at $2,100 and are excited to share that our goal has been exceeded! In total, we received $2,425 designated toward the conference. This amount will cover our attendance and all travel costs. We praise God for providing for our needs, and want to say Thank You for being the way God brought this blessing to us!

The CareGivers Conference will begin on October 18th. We greatly appreciate your prayer for a safe trip, and that our experience at the conference will be fruitful and encouraging. As we mentioned in our previous post, QPM has attended as often as possible throughout the past 25 years. It is a wonderful time to network with other ministries, a number of which are places where we send our guests. Since QPM offers different locations where our guests can get away, it is extremely beneficial for us to learn about and build relationships with these different retreat ministries. Thank you for supporting us with your prayer, encouragement, and gifts!

“I cannot fully put to words what this retreat did for our family, individually & spiritually.”

We absolutely love hearing our guests share about their spiritual retreats. This family traveled to Florida to stay in the Orlando area, and took a few days to relax together and rest in the Lord. We are so encouraged by what they shared with us after their retreat, and we want you to understand how deeply your support impacts our retreat guests! Here is some of what they shared with us:

“Life and ministry can be incredibly rewarding, but they can also move at a pace where it feels like there is always another responsibility, another need, another event, or another person who needs something from you. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, it can become easy to forget how much we need intentional time to simply be together as a family.

We were reminded again of how incredibly blessed we are to have one another and how important it is to protect and invest in the relationships God has entrusted to us. More than anything, we were able to slow down and reconnect as a family. We laughed, played, rested, made memories, and had conversations that probably would not have happened in the middle of our normal routines at home. It was a much needed break from day to day stresses and created time for my family to really focus on each other. My kids, on several different days, kept saying "this is the best day ever!".

This trip really was the spiritual & physical calm before our storms. We came home refreshed and ready to be as best prepared for the work God had in store for us, and of course is still doing. This was absolutely a 10. If I could rate it higher I would. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time and all consider this the best retreat we've ever had.”

Earlier this summer, a pastoral family took a Quiet Place retreat in Tennessee. They had this to share with us:

“This was a wonderful and refreshing time away with our family. We were able to spend meaningful time together, share meals together, play together, enjoy God's beautiful creation together and just have a great time away. It was very refreshing!”

We love hearing the word “refresh” after our guests return from a retreat. Our prayer is that QPM retreats help pastors, missionaries, and ministry workers continue to serve God and avoid burnout. Thank you everyone who joined us for the Benefit Concert this past weekend! The music was wonderful, and it was a fantastic opportunity to share more details about Quiet Place. We truly appreciate the Walkers for sharing their talents with us and adding us to their busy schedule.

A few people expressed interest in volunteering at Resale Depot, and we were also blessed as almost $1,700 was given toward the Benefit Concert!

Serving God in full time ministry is an amazing blessing, but the schedule, pressure, and stress of ministry work has a lot of potential to negatively impact the families of ministry workers. That’s why we love seeing a family take a Quiet Place retreat together, so they can rest and invest in their relationships with each other and with God.

Just last month, a pastoral family traveled to South Carolina for a retreat on the beach! They enjoyed family worship, going for walks, and spending time in the water. They shared a little about their retreat with us: “We were at a time where we needed rest, quiet, and family time. This retreat provided all of these things. Some family time before a few life changes was sooo good!”

“I felt like I was able to bring my burdened heart to Him.”

Quiet Place Ministries began with the purpose of providing retreats to those in ministry who need rest, renewal, and intentional time with God and family. We are happy to share about another recent QPM retreat. This family enjoyed their time in Missouri, including a museum visit, a tour of 7 waterfalls, and a bagpipe ceremony! They also spent time prioritizing their relationship with God through prayer, podcasts, and reading. They shared this with us: “It was lovely. The place we stayed was so wonderful. We were able…each day to spend time with God. (We are) so grateful for you all!!””

Those of you who support us through prayer, volunteering, words of encouragement, and financial gifts are truly our partners in this ministry. Quiet Place would not exist without you!

Too much pastoral care begins after something has already gone wrong.
After the exhaustion becomes unsustainable.
After the marriage has become strained.
After isolation has taken root.
After the joy of ministry has begun to fade.
We believe there is a better way.

Pastors need intentional rhythms of rest, renewal, and trusted friendships throughout ministry, not only at the breaking point.
