It’s quite obvious that pictures and postings are not my strongest attribute 🤭
It’s been a joke with my rescue partners for years, and though it is true, I am trying to get better at that, to raise awareness and share these dogs in our care. Truthfully, I am stronger at holding space and truly spending quality time without my phone with the dogs. OK, and sometimes it just takes two hands to do these tasks. Each let out, fetch and training session matters and I do wish we could capture it all on camera to share with you all.
I also wish we could share with you the difference adopting a rescue dog truly makes. It’s clear that for that dog getting a family of their own changes their life forever. What not everyone sees is the difference it also makes to so much more. Each dog that is adopted opens a space for us to help another dog. We don’t step back and take a break, rather we start calling the people who have reached out looking to rehome to see if they found placement, follow up with our rescue partners and keep saving. The rescue you adopt at minimum saves two dogs. We could also think of the difference it makes for that new owner and honestly us at the sanctuary as well. What an amazing gift to be able to help place a dog after a rocky start in life!
Today we attended the walk for su***de prevention. It was a rainy day and we decided against taking a dog along. Today was heavy, and just as I was feeling the weight of that, out of the sidelines comes sweet Brynn, one of our prior saves. She spotted me out of a crowd and came right to me. The dogs remember. Always. And she knew I needed her presence in that moment. After all these years of being in her forever home, she never forgets.
Please help us to share the stories of the amazing dogs in our care. The right homes are out there, and each share increase their chances.

We at the Sanctuary would like to acknowledge we are not professionals on this topic. We also acknowledge the unconditional love animals give, and that in our experience, that makes a difference for some. We acknowledge the dogs we have in rescue looking for homes, and the difference a loving home can make for a dog as well as the difference a loving dog can make to a home. We know first hand how su***de impacts pets through our rescues whom came to our care as the result of su***de by their owners. We also as a team have been impacted personally by su***de, and understand just how heavy that is. Most importantly, we acknowledge that we truly care. 🐾❤️🐾❤️
